I was thinking more along the lines of voltage required, power draw and heat output, but comparative performance tests would also be useful.

I would bet the 6750 will outperform the 6600 at same clock but I can't prove that.

That last page or so may have been the most pleasant exchange I've ever seen at AD. :D KEep it up fellas and they will try to award us some sort of "sportsmanship" pin. hehehe. :P
Hi gurnard.... ;) hope all is well with you!!
Thanks for the comments guys. You may have pushed me to get something in the wired department, specifically Logitech!!! I have and LX3 mouse right now and it's great but I'm setting up another computer for my wife (so she'll stay the HECK off of mine.....hehehe) and was looking at getting her the "wireless" mouse at least. NOT now tho... seems like almost all like their wired products. :D
......gm
EDIT:
Just received my sales for today...lol
Blade you might be interested in a couple of these adds....

Corsair 750TX P/S $104.99 after MIR

That's some incredible value stuff there gm, nice finds. I wish we could get stuff that cheap in the UK... $105 for a 750W TX, honestly, they're £100 over here! ($195)
Cincyrob: By all means take your time my friend. Rushing into a big investment almost always ends in disappointment, even if it is "butbut I paid twice that much for mine!" :)

Mort81,
Thanks, good to be back!
My SuperPi is pretty close to yours, in the mid to high 14's and mid 14 min. range for 32MB
http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/7724/superpifi3.jpg
http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/7638/superpi32mhz4.jpg
My math scores are pretty good too
http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/5386/p353550mathai3.jpg
As is my memory bandwidth
http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/9269/p353550mbgd7.jpg
Great MultiMedia too
http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/5614/p353550mmta6.jpg
It just won't run any faster with my current memory! 3.55GHz! With the Crucial Ballistix Tracer 1066 memory it can go over 4GHz, but I won't run the kind of high voltage it takes to get there. I really wished that I had the time to run some benchmarks of it at 3.8GHz but the loan of the memory was only for an hour or so, and sadly he came and picked it up!
Even up, both the E6600 and the E6750 are very similar in performance. Where the E6750 shines is with the extra 2MB of L2 Cache memory. It just does everything quicker. It winds up with faster thruput! I've switched my memory over from program performance to Cache performance and the difference is like night and day! The numbers aren't any faster but the relative realtime performance is improved. All the memory functions are enhanced by the extra cache, so you pick up time that way. I guess it's just faster execution of the programs!
EDIT:Adding the benefits of SP3 for XP-Pro and the faster execution of the programs and it's a noticeable improvement in all around performance!
Best Regards,
Russ

Rob,
is this one of the cases you're considering? COOLER MASTER RC-632-SSN1-GP SILVER MYSTIQUE 632 ALUMINUM MID TOWER ATX CASE link that is a damn good price. you can also get it in black or aluminum/SECC. I'm by no means being pushy but I have the silver all aluminum and luv it.

abuzar,
what speed is your memory?
edit: nevermind, I looked at your cpu-z validation. appears the 6750 nothes out the 6600 just a hair at the same clock speed.

I'm going to have a play with my memory multipliers and see if I can get my system stable at a higher RAM speed. I'm currently running my PC6400 at 700mhz to enable my 3.15Ghz overclock. What's a safe voltage to run Corsair XMS2 at?

sam,
2.2 wouldn't bother me a bit. I wouldn't go any higher than 2.3 though.

So 2.2V then, to be safe. Do you think I can make 840mhz with 4 sticks at that voltage?

My memory is rated at 2.2v but I figured out that 2v is fine for it so I've been running it at that speed. If your memory doesn't get unstable then don't raise the voltage.

quite easily I would think. what are you're timings at? you might have to loosen them a bit but I doubt you will have to. should still run at 4-4-4-12. when did you get 2 more 2gb sticks?
Greg16,
just my opinion but that case does nothing for me. I'm an old fart though (well 44).

Bought them second hand off a guy for £30 a week ago, they're the same CAS4 PC6400 ones I already have. System works fine at my 3.15Ghz OC using them, but only at 2x multiplier. At 2.4x and 840mhz, the system boots but is unstable. I experimented with overclocking my CPU a bit further to see if I could bring the RAM speed up that way, but even only going up to 3.19Ghz caused stability issues as well. I'm now trying lowering the CPU to 3.04Ghz and using 2.4x to achieve a memory speed of 810, rather than 700. I'll see how that benches.
@Mort: lol you do realise I have that case too right? Well, the silver/blue version of.

Haha, agreed.
Overclock didn't really go to plan. Couldn't get the system stable in windows with 2.2V at 840mhz, didn't fancy going any higher. Tried upping my multi to 2.4x and reducing the CPU speed to 3.04Ghz, but the end result wasn't that much of a benefit in games etc, so I decided to put things back to how they were. Looks like I need something higher calibre than XMS2 to pull a big OC on 4 sticks...

You know I thought that was some good RAM too. Not managing 840 at 2.2v is kinda pathetic for Corsair(which is supposed to be a good company).

Can someone please fix their post, whoever it is has severely warped the space time continuum!!! :P I'll even say PLEASE.......
Sorry I guess I'm trying to confuse like sammyboy does. hehehe. :P I meant what progie/software do you use to monitor temps, voltages, fans, and such....... you know something similar to Everest or Speedfan BUT NOT those 2. ;) Speedfan DOES NOT work with my system and unless I missed something in EVerest, some items are NOT seen. My mobo chipset fan for one. ;) Russ any help on that buddy?
I just opened mail (well a couple of hours ago) and Cooler Master had five (5) little checks for me. :D Only one more to go for them.... and waiting on 2 from Corsair and 2 from FoxConn....... Hope I'm not disappointed. It's only been about a month on the Corsair but FoxConn might be trying to OutFox me. hehehe. ;P
.....gm
ON the mouse front, I think I'll just get another LX3 since they are waving shipping fees. ;) I like the one that I have and I know it works with the setup I'm moving to the bedroom for the little lady (really for me...so she'll stay away from the MANputer...hehehe). :D
