Thats only $25 more than the pound price I paid (£65).
Edit - and an extra $10 off for new google customers ( I use google checkout with ebuyer and its actually quite good, I myself joined when they had £10 off first order over here).

Rob: Good call on going with Corsair. The 520W HX is what I'd recommend since it's capable of running a quad core and a top end graphics card without the fan speed rising above idle...
The prices of the VX550 and HX520 are rather mediocre, if you use the same tax level as the UK, it works out at £57 and £68 respectively including delivery, versus around £63 and £71 over here, not much of a difference!
The TX650 though is an absolute steal, at £60 delivered after the rebate. Over here they're £87 (although you can save an extra £10 if you use week-long delivery, and to be fair delivery in the US isn't really next day anyway)
I can't help but notice that without the rebate and instant saving, it'd be a whopping £95...

Easily missed my friend.
On an interesting note, I decided to move my OS drive in its silent enclosure from a 5.25" bay onto a folded up towel on my floor, to experiment with vibrations. Holy cow does it make a difference, the noise level of my PC has more than quartered. The "You could hear a pin drop" expression is almost true!

I personally have a corsair 620HX and it is the one I recommend. whisper quiet, can't even hear it. it comes with a better selection/more modular cables than the 520HX and will make your rig more future proof.

Crucial is going cheap on us. They don't use the same memory chips as before, they now use Micron D9DQW, which are not very good overclockers.
Looks like it's OCZ after all.

Just checked and Crucial stuff is 30, hard to pass that up.
Sam, the 8500 version still uses the D9 chips so they are good.

I'm fairly sure corsair PC2 8500 dominators is what I'm going to go with. problem is everybody is out of em.
I'm a little concerned about their height depending on which mobo I go with. on the DFI mobo I'm looking at the dram slots set awful close to the cpu socket and a TR ultra 120 extreme w/fan might not clear since the dominators are taller than std memory due to the large heatsinks.
everything should clear (I think) with the asus mobo I'm considering.

ballistix OC like the dogs bolocks.
imo they are one of the best, if not the best, when OCing ram.
a couple of mates have their 667Mz running around the 900 mark.
but their falure rate is a bit much, but with the 48hr replacements i think they are superb in CS aswell.
corsair for me are only good with high end stuff. there slower stuff just doesnt OC much.

Yeah I just checked and Crucial 8500 and Corsair 8500 use the SAME CHIPS(Micron D9GMH). They should OC the same as well.
Except for the fact that there is one revision of the Corsair that doesn't use the Micron D9GMH, so lets hope you got lucky and got Micron chips and not the Infineon ones.
EDIT: Seems like the ones from buy.com use the Micron chips. Watch out for PC2-8500C5 Rev 2.1 from Corsair, they use the Infineon chips.

hopefully I'll get the good ones. if not, DDR2 memory right now is one of the least expensive PC components and I can replace it with some munchkins er mushkins or OCZ's

Don't be silly!! docTY (kivory666) can't be goaded into anything. hehehe. Heck he's got a Q6600 sitting in his closet ready for installation in something. lol. I'm sure knowing him he's got an E8400 or E8500 sitting next to it. hehehe. j/k docTY if you read this. :P

rob,
hehe. I really should spend my money in other places but to many dogs in my yard now and they're bigger than me. I was one of the big dogs for quit a while with my E6600 but now I'm having to set on the porch. my rig is still very fast and dependable. if I didn't have this CM stacker 830 evo staring at me, I would probably just stay on the porch. :)
I blame it all on you and the GM. :) I don't even try to keep up with the Doc. his pockets are far deeper than mine.
