you need to have the follding folders on your PSP
ms0:/ISO
ms0:/PSP/GAME
ms0:/PSP/GAME271
Then load recovery menu (R trigger on startup) and go Configuation and set game kernal folder as 1.50 (not 2.71)
It you homebrew now goes in the GAME folder like before and it shouldn't freeze.
Good Luck

Know what man? I have the same problem now to. I can't even upgrade to 2.80 to get out of 2.71 SE-B. Is there any way to remove this dreadful custom firmware?

First off that's the program I used.

Then I chose that option

This is what I got from that process (I'm just showing you this in a folder on my computer just for this example).

Now forget about Devhook because I was just focused on getting the hybrid to work, this is what was in the PSP folder:

Then inside GAME was:

And inside GAME150 was:

Now from here I managed to get the 2.71 SE-B Custom Firmware to upgrade on my PSP. I was previously using 1.50 Firmware after downgrading the original 2.71. After that my memory stick slot became useless when trying to access it on the PSP. The PSP just freezes now if there is anything in the memory stick slot in GAME when I try to go into it. I deleted what was in there (GAME) but it still was useless although the memory stick itself is fine and worked when i hook it up to the USB and on my brothers PSP. I hope this helps you understand I bit of what I did.

This was the downgrader i used to downgrade from 1.50 to 2.71 and it worked fine for that but when trying to downgrade the 2.71 Se-B Custom Firmware to 1.50 it did not work. Also when trying to upgrade to 2.81 Firmware, the PSP said the game cqan't be played or something along those lines.

it is a hole differnt story to downgrade from SE-B"! you wanna downgrade from that cuz the downgrader you just showed is for 2.71 and not 2.71 SE-B+

Thats what you did wrong, you didn't install the recovery mode.
So put your PSP into USB mode and run the program again and chose "Install the recovery folder for returning to 1.5". Then recovery should work.
ALso, make sure you have an ISO folder in the root of your memory stick. The snes emulator should go into the GAME150 folder NOT the GAME or GAME271.

My problem is almost identical. I wish someone would like help here. My psp is useless like this. Now I can only play UMD's firmware 2.71 and below now and can't even upgrade. What a joke this program is.

You know what, whatever seriously this forum can kiss my ass. You guys give good links to hacker programs for psp like downgrading and such but when things go wrong you know shit all what to do. The helped i've received in this forum has been subpar to say the least. I sound ungrateful but it's true. Now I have to go out and buy a new PSP because it looks like I'm permanently stuck with 2.71 SE-B since I have seen not good suggestions on how to get it off my PSP since MY PSP WON'T ALLOW ME TO ACCESS THE MEMORY STICK WITHOUT FREEZING AND RESETTING. So thanks alot for nothing.

Well Frankie has helped out man. Just he has no solution to the problem yet. I'm going to try and be patient but yeah it is frustrating when you have nothing that really helps and your stuff with some gay 2.71 SE-B Custom Firmware on your PSP. I don't want to buy a new PSP but I too might have to. ANother $220 down the drain since ordering a PSP will take forever again.

The recovery is on the memory stick like beside the GAME, MUSIC, PHOTOS, etc. If that's not considered installing it then no I don't have it installed. And could you be a bit more descriptive please. Like even if it was installed how do I get the recovery to bring my PSP back to 1.5 when i can't access the memory stick. please you'll have to tell me because otherwise i don't see how what you're saying make sense.

Turn off your PSP compeletely (hold power switch for 10 seconds) and then turn it on holding the R trigger.
