Here's my situation, i ripped Caddyshack by chapter using Smartripper. I then used VOBedit to combine the files(i know, wasted steps) and IFOedit to create IFO's and get VTS sectors. I put them in VIDEO_TS/ and burnt them using dataDVD project in Roxio. It plays with chapters on my computer but not on my settop. Now, i have made a successful settop burn using the showbiz software that came with my A05, so its not a hardware compatability issue. my only gripe with showbiz is that it didn't keep chapters(why i ripped by chapter), and it reencoded and skewed the video. So, i know all ya all are gonna tell me to destroy Roxio or or die a hellish death, which i wouldn't mind, the destroying 'n all, but its like a plague. so far i've owned some old mitsumi CD-R, a plextor 16/10/40, a plextor DVD/CD-R combo drive, and a Pioneer A05. Why must every last one of them come with roxio?!? anyway, i don't really want to buy a new burning app, has anyone successfully used roxio to burn a dvd the way i have? I'm stumped any feedback would be appreciated.

Give it up !!! Roxio is baaadddd

Most here use Nero or Record Now Max , and I being one of the very happy Nero users.
I'm a little surprised your burner came w/ Roxio as the only 2 I have known to be bundled with Pioneer burner is either Prassi or Nero.

Also use DVD Shrink for decrypting and compressing [it's free & a good app] then burn using a good app...not Roxio

yeah, i already know roxio sucks, just wondered if anyone had any success, possibly with burning an image file created by another program. and yes, DVD Shrink rocks. but i didn't find it until after i had ripped Caddyshack, and i do like the rip by chapter feature in SmartRipper. although i haven't really had a good use for it yet.

Yeah, it is a good feature of Smart Ripper, though i always use DVD Decrypter or DVD Shrink and burning with Record Now Deluxe. There is a trial available for the Record now Delux and i highly recommend using it. You can get it here:

It is actually Record now deluxe so the guide will have to be changed slightly to reflect this.

bit the bullet. $80 - $20 MIR on nero6 ultra edition. loving every penny of it.

I'd like to hear how good it is at dealing with MPEG4 , as I know thats a key feature of Nero 6
