First off how easy is it to get the ps3 online out of the box? I currently have dsl, do I need to purchase anything else? Secondly can I transfer files on my computer (anime shows etc..) and play them on a ps3? And finally how is online browsing on the ps3?

mine worked right out the box all I had to do is just set it to wireless or wired connection then it does a little scan and your set as for the browser I not a big fan of it,its slow and just looks ugly so I hope they improve it

it depends on what ps3 you want to get. if you get the 60gb, you have the advantage of wifi so you can hook up a wireless router to your modem and configuring it. then you just have to enter the wep key and ssid of your network into the ps3. if you wanna do wired, its as easy as plugging in an ethernet cable. in terms of transfering files, you wont be able to do so through a network in the ps3's xmb. however, you can install linux and MIGHT be able to transfer files through a network. however, the easiest way to transfer would be thru usb flash/hard drives. if you have anime shows, they're most probably .avi's so you willl have to convert them to mpeg2 or mpeg4 before transfering them on to your ps3.
