i ran a programme called sisoftware sandra and it said my bios is old and to check for an update,i tried the device manager way but nothing,it also said that smbios/dmi information may be incorrect, can anyone help me out here, cheers
The BIOS is the basic code required to operate the PC, it will be found directly at the motherboards website.
Sandra should have told you what version board you have and what BIOS, so go to that manufacturers website, check for updates and if required download it and follow the instructions on how to upload it to the PC.
Basically though if you have no issues, then you don't really need to update it, if you do it and get it wrong, then you will be unable to use the PC at all, until you fix the problem, which if you manged to mess it up in the first place, you may find hard to do.
If you post what board and bios you have, then we can look for an update and see if there are any major fixes from what you are now using.
