Hi there,
I would like to ask what is the easiest or best way for me to get music (mp3's) from my computer to my son's ipod? Where do I get the program? I am wanting to load it before Christmas gets here. I use Musicmatch for my music.
Also what accessories do you think is a must for an ipod nano if any?
I Thank You and My Son Thanks You

Just go to the file where you saved your music files too. Drap and Drop them into iTunes and plug the iPod in to the computer. It should sync and you'll be good to go.
If you wanted to when they are in iTunes, before you connect the iPod, you could can edit the song info such as Artist name, Song Title, Album name, and even add album art to the songs.

Didn't your son's iPod come with a CD? If so, install that and iTunes and quicktime should be installed to your computer. If not, check out;
http://www.apple.com/itunes/
and click on the side where it says free download.
All you gotta do is install that and then open it up and select the songs you want and drag them over to iTunes. When you have everything on just plug in the iPod and it should sync it all and you're set.

after using musicmatch you'll fall in love with itunes. Its much better.
As far as accessories go if he has a drivers license or even if he doesn't and you drive together a lot a FM modulator is a must. It allows you to broadcast whats playing on your ipod to the cars radio(or any radio for that matter).. its the best for the ipod. Also some other headphones may be a good idea down the line some people find that the earbuds that come with it are uncomfortable. Another MUST is a case for it. Get one that covers the screen as well as the rest of the ipod.. you'll thank yourself later when you don't have to buy a replacement.
After you have iTunes installed go to File>Add Folder to add music.

Yeah, It's supposed to convert your files, mp3 is the format it has to be in for the iPod to be able to play them.
You'll notice that beside every song in iTunes there is a little check box. Just check on uncheck it depending if you want that song on your iPod.
If you put an audio CD in your computer you'll be able to use any prgram such as Windows Media Player, for example, to rip the songs you want off the CD. Then just drag and drop them into iTunes like any other mp3 file you have on your computer.

You have to delete what you dont want on the iPod out of iTunes before you update it. Or, just uncheck them before you update the iPod and they wont go on. You can't delete them directly from the iPod. Everything goes through iTunes first.

The second gen iPods don't come with a CD, if you have a Mac you probably alredy have iTunes, you will just need to update it.
I would recomend geting this shield!
I use it on my 80GB video and I don't have one scratch.

no, that is a case, the poblem with cases is when you take them on and of it scratches the iPod, it also takes away the sexy look of the iPod, this is a Shield that you put on the iPod. once you put it on the iPod and the "adhesive stuff dries" you cant take it off then put it back off. This also has a lifetime warrenty and if it ever starts to come off contact them and send a Pic and they will send you a new one free of charge.
