I used the trial version to rip a dvd that I couldn't rip using DVD Decrypter or shrink (all the king's men) Now I can't burn the disc using roxio. did I miss something ? also how is DVDFAB overall ? I may just purchase the latest version because it copies DVD to IPOD
DVDFab Decrypter is awesome. I've been using DVDFab Decrypter (the FREE ripper) for ages and it does an outstanding job -- it will rip any new released DVDs out there. It is simply the basic version of DVDFab Platinum.

I've had DVDFAB Platinum over two years, and have had great success with it. It copies scratched disks that I couldn't copy with other programs.
I would buy it again.
What do you use to burn ????????? And do you know if the FAB platinum is worth purchasing ?????
@catdaddy6
Since you asked me, I'll make it short on what I primarily used to rip, transcode (compress) and burn. However, keep in mind that my process of backing up DVDs varies depends on how big the original movie/DVD is running. In addition, all I want is "quality and longevity," yes that's me.
Backing up a "normal" DVD
<> DVDFab Decrypter or RipIt4Me - to rip into the hard drive
<> VobBlanker - to edit, blank/delete unwanted junks (FBI Warnings, useless previews, logos, etc.)
<> Nero Recode - to transcode
<> Nero Burning Rom or ImgBurn - to burn final VIDEO_TS folder
Backing up a 3 hrs DVD (King Kong, LOTR, SCARFACE, etc.)
<> DVDFab Decrypter or RipIt4Me - to rip into the hard drive
<> VobBlanker - to blank/delete all junks (FBI Warnings, useless previews, logos, etc.)
<> DVD-RB Pro + CCE SP 2.70 - to encode via 3 PASSES
<> Nero Burning Rom or ImgBurn - to burn final VIDEO_TS folder

Honestly, I can't say "yes" or "no" simply because I haven't used it. However, if you're into DVD to IPOD, PSP or AVI backups, then it won't hurt to give it a try.
I believe it updates weekly just like AnyDVD to handle the latest protections out there, plus you get "FREE LIFETIME" upgrade so you shouldn't have to worry about it.
