Burn BIN onto DVD

I am using Nero 7.

This is what I have tried.

right click *.cue -> Nero Burning Rom
It brings up window but it only allows cd NOT dvd. I ever tried burning it once which worked fine but obviosly it did not work in dvd player.

I have mounted the image in Deamon and I see it is a MPEGAV(VideoCD) movie. Is this going to be possible?

Would it be possible to take the actual VCD file and copy it to HD and burn it from there? Will this cause much quality loss? I am going to try as I wait for a reply. thanks in advance for any assistance.

As you've seen, bin files are for CDs. Just burn it to a CD. It'll play in your DVD player just fine. There is no advantage to converting to a DVD.

I tried that....made several coasters, at least they are coasters for me as my DVD player wont play them. Maybe I just have an older DVD Player.

I got it to work. I mounted the file with Deamon, then copied to the hard drive. Then I used Nero Vison and made a DVD. Since it was in 16:9 ratio I now have a second black line, kind of like 16:9 twice. I am gonna try to burn it as 4:3 and see it it looks ok though it looks fine as it is.

While I have you, what is the correct file to burn DVD's if .bin is for cd's?

ok....I just took a look at one of those coasters I made. And I wonder if there may be a problem with the menu. There isn't one that I know of.

On the cd I have 4 folders. Inside one of the folders is the movie. The folder is named MPEGAV. I can play the movie file fine on my computer, though it does not autoplay?

There are 3 other folders, EXT, SEGMENT and VCD. Are these files required for playback? And does this file structure matter for the DVD player to play it?

DVD image downloads usually have iso as the extension. Nero uses nrg as the extension for its image files. DVD downloads are sometimes in a folder when extracted. The folder will contain video files with the extension VOB as well as one ifo and bup file.

Yes the folders are necessary for playback as a VCD. Here's some technical info if you're interested.
