Converting SVCD or VCD to Mpeg ?

Hi everyone,

I want to convert SVCD and VCD to a Mpeg file so that I can use it with TMPGEnc.

I have tried using the file in the folder mpeg2 on the SVCD. I have a problem though, this file will not work with TMPDEnc. I get (can not open this file).

I have looked for a program with no luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you are doing this because your dvd player wont play SVCD, try a VCD header trick first, might just save your quality!

I hope this helps you.
1) Launch TMPGEnc
2) Click on FILE - MPEG TOOLS
3) Select Type MPEG-VIDEO-CD
4) Click ADD
5) Select your VCD
6) Open the MPEGAV folder
7) Select Files of Type - All Files(*.*)
8) Open the .DAT file
9) Select Output to name and save your new MPEG file
10) Click RUN to produce the MPEG file.

It will enable the .dat file on the VCD to be re-encoded with TMPGEnc.
RandyRB stated that he could not get the file to work with that program.
It's just a method that will work.

VCDEasy would do it much quicker, if you click tools - mpeg tools and use cdxa2mpeg!
