I have just got a sony dru510a with the record now dx software, i can easily burn cd's but when it comes to dvd's - no success. I use dvd decrypter, dvd2one123 (registered) and then recordnow dx to burn. I make sure the total space needed is below 4.3 (last one was 3,407.53Mb) but i got an error message saying :-

Data Job Untitled 1 Terminated With Errors Error - 10 at sector 2272 - Command:00 Sense:02 ASC;04 ASCQ;07.

I have used traxdata deep purple colouring and mirror purple dvd-r's but nothing.

Does anyone have any idea to why i can't burn.

Your Traxdata media is fine, its one of the best. As for the burning software - is it Stomp or veritas software. It will say as you load it up?

I agree with Richard, the 105 is my favourite drive since the 106 doesnt have an rpc 1 upgrade and has a feature i would never use - +R

Before you take the Sony back, it maybe wothwhile just to list your pc specs, ram, Hd space and processor speed etc......

Does this happen at the end of the burning cycle?

Is there any regularity as to WHEN you receive this error eg. at the start, 10mins into the burn or at the end %80 etc etc....?

Also have you tried to burn something using dvd decrypter to see if that burning software works?

Have you also tried any trial downloads eg. recordnow or nero?

You may need the latest download for the drive support - what version of software have you got?

Have you tried uninstall/reinstall of recnow?

You may just have a bad copy of the software.....

Sorry loads of questions - just to be sure you may have a faulty unit.

Using Pioneer 105 writer with Traxdata G03 discs, DVD Shrink and recordnow 4.5 and very few problems (just the usual chapter pauses occasionally but probs due to player - samsung s224 player which pauses at dual layer on originals anyway so struggles a bit encoding). Bit off the subject but does anyone know of any good dvd players that wont pause and play dvd-r and dvd-r mp3 with no problems? thx Steve

JonnyDoe, it is diue to your player, the Samsung s224 has a tendencie to pause at chapter points on DVDR. Most samsumgs do it, ar the latest ones!

Yeah, I and a few others i know where having similar luck with the Samsung S224. I changed and the problems stopped. Later Samsungs cope better, but the slight pause isnt too much of a problem i dont think. :-)

baabaa, this error happened about 10 seconds into the burning everytime. My spec's are :

AMD 1800xp, 256mb ram, WD 80gb HD, epox 8rda+.

I've tried a few programs and nothing seems to work. I've now sent the drive back now. I will give an update when I get the replacement.

The first ten seconds suggest a comms problem between hd/ram and writer during the initialisation of the burner.....

I would suspect software rather than hardware.

Did you install or have the option to install the DLA software with it, I have heard several people have issues with this (the drag and drop ability within windows via recnow) including me, so I don't use it.....?

Hmmm, I would have tried the DVD Decrypter route first to see if that software would communicate with cpu/ram and writer.....etc

If it did, then it would be a problem with the recnow software and a download update may have cured it......may not have the compatible burning engine on the bundled disc, this is available as an update at http://www.orlogix.com

Ah well, let us know when you get your replacement and if it cures the problem......hope it does

The Pacific 1002 is probably better than at least 2 of your 6 players mate... (incl. Samsung that hangs)

I'll give you the samsung, both of them. But it aint better than the Marantz, Plu2 (both of them) Sony or Panasonic. Remeber that i need P-Scan as a function including Y, CB/CR, PB,PR component out. So you can stick that in you pipe and smoke it :p LOL

baabaa, i got my burner back now and the company i got it from tried it and they said it worked fine, since installing it i have had no errors with burning! - runs 100%. Perhaps the drive needed to be run in or wasnt plugged in properly?

Hi Tumbnail,
Did the company try to burn a DVD?
They probably did try the run check on the drive only. It worked fine, however it won't burn DVD. I had done it before. Anyway, you need to get a new sony dru510a.
