I am trying to do the rip with decrypter, fix VTS way of going about it since AnyDVD alone hates it but it says it reached the max amount of vts's (which is 99).

Any other way of burning this one?

Since I always seem to ask questions I will just put this into here to help everyone that helps me out....

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+, 2.42 GHz, 2 GB RAM, Sony DVD-ROM DDU1615, ASUS DRW-24B1ST a - 1.04 (Firmware)

AnyDVD 7.1.2.0, Shrink 3.2.0.15, Nero 7.10.1.0

You can rip w/ DVDFab Decrypter then open those files in Shrink.

Your AnyDVD can use an update too - the latest is 6.1.3.6.
Though for this one you'd need CloneDVD or do main movie w/ Recode and AnyDVD.

Ah gotcha - a bit behind on the sig :)
DVDFab should do the trick on this one - it's one of the newer Sony's with all the bad sectors.

I tried ripping this movie with Decryptor and with Shrink with no success.
It was only when I used Ripit4me in conjunction with Decryptor and then was able to format and burn with Shrink that I was successful.

BTW, I also have AnyDVD and am here to tell you it doesn't work on 'anyDVD', and that's a fact. Very disappointed in them at this point.

Yeah there are some that AnyDVD will not work on w/ Shrink - the newer ones from Sony.
Anytime you see ARccOS & Puppetlock with a ton of bad sectors that combo won't work.
AnnyDVD and CloneDVD will handle them along w/ RipItMe and DVDFab Decrypter.

I have found the same issues with Disney produced movies as well.
I wrote AnyDVD about these issues, and never did get a satisfactory answer to my questions.

Forgot that there may be a few Disneys that Shrink and AnyDVD choke on.
Can't remember which titles but think it's the ones with a large 'unreferenced material' listed under 'extras'. Changing it to a still image usually does the trick.

Sony and ARccOS are almost synonymous. As mentioned there's Disney, and Lionsgate is another that uses the ARccOS along with the heavier encryption with all the bogus files. Usually the big blockbuster movies are the ones with the heavier copy protection. When you open up a new movie and see about a hundred files and most of them very small, you can almost bet you've got the more difficult copy protection.

Good evening Binkie. Just thought I'd toss Lionsgate in there, I've gotten some hard ones from them. I forget the titles now. I've been so busy lately my memory is fading.

lol my memory is always fading :)

Looks like AnyDVD will now work w/ Shrink and you can do the full movie w/ recode instead of movie only using the new AnyDVD ripper. Looks like may just be able to run in the background also on those newer ones.
Download here:

http://sandbox.slysoft.com/beta/SetupAnyDVD6141.exe

Changes:

http://sandbox.slysoft.com/beta/changes_anydvd.txt

6.1.4.1 2007 05 02
- New (DVD): AnyDVD ripper rewritten from scratch. It is no
longer based on FixVTS code but on the powerful copy engine of
CloneDVD2, licensed from Elaborate Bytes AG. If you want more
control (stream selection, main movie only selection, ...) we
recommend elby CloneDVD2 available at http://www.slysoft.com
- New (DVD): AnyDVD ripper can now handle heavily protected discs
- New (DVD): AnyDVD ripper output is now fully compatible with
DVD Shrink and Nero Recode
- New (DVD): Protection removal of AnyDVD core is more compatible
with DVD Shrink and Nero Recode. Some heavily protected discs
like "Perfume" (R2, German) can now directly opened with Shrink
without prior ripping to harddisk.

- New (DVD): Added support for new copy protections to the option to
remove "Protection based on unreadable Sectors"
- New (Blu-ray): Improved detection / removal of region code
Multi region (e.g. Region A+C) discs are now handled correctly
in "automatic" region removal mode
- Change: Workaround for registration problem on Windows Vista
- Change: Removed AnyDVD ripper shortcut
- Fix: Title 10 of "Perfume", R2, German was damaged
- Some minor fixes and improvements
- Updated languages

Took them awhile but hey

Thanks for the info Binkie. I was starting to think Slysoft had written off their ripper and support for anything but their own software. Slysoft had a bunch of unhappy AnyDVD customers there for a while. A lot of people didn't like being forced to buy CloneDVD 2 to make things work right. I'm glad they finally got-r-done. I'll have to start using my AnyDVD software more to see how the improvements work out.

Yeah I kinda thought they wouldn't be updating it for Shrink. Esp. since they moved on BluRay, HD DVD & Game Jackal.

They may have reconsidered because there are still a lot more DVD users than Blu Ray and HD DVD users. AnyDVD is still the big seller and I'd almost bet most of Slysoft's sales have involved AnyDVD, either alone or as part of a package with CloneDVD 2. Slysoft was getting a lot of bad press there for a while.

My thinking was more along the lines that Shrink was put on the back burner til they 'overcame' anything BluRay or HD DVD and bought the interest in Game Jackal. Looks like that wasn't that tough so back to Shrink.
They always said they would work on it just never said when :)

Blinky, I'm not sure what your mean here. I have 6.1.3.6 and that's supposed to be the latest version of AnyDVD. Is this 6.1.4.1 available elsewhere or what?

The version Binkie linked to is a beta. It's being tested. It or a later release will be available for customers when they think they have it stable.

You're welcome. When you see sandbox, that's where the beta programs come from. 6141 didn't make it. There's a newer beta, 6142. Here's the latest link.

http://sandbox.slysoft.com/beta/SetupAnyDVD6142.exe

The text link (for changes) remains the same as Binkie supplied above.

De nada Binkie. I didn't know how long it would be before you came back on. I sometimes take things for granted myself and don't mention the betas as such. I'd noticed 6141 only lasted a day, so I thought I'd add the new link. They must have found a bug real quick on that one. Any idea what the problem was?

No biggie pacman better to get an answer faster to a member then waiting around for me to be online :)

No idea on what the bug was - haven't been to slysoft's forum in awhile.
Heck ireland alerted me to the beta.

thats great new that they retooled AnyDVD but i think i will wait till they officially release it before i download the program.probably would be a good idea to do a clean reinstall when it comes out also
