is there any software that will rip and convert dvd movies complete to put on ipod ?

If you are looking for something free, then you will have to do it in 2 steps. Get DVD Decrypter and Videora iPod converter. They are both free, and once you rip with Decrypter you can convert with Videora and into iTunes.
If you want a one step software, try something like PQ DVD, Cucusoft, or Xilisoft iPod Converters.

No, the freeware will need 2 step, first rip dvd to VOB, then convert VOB to mp4...but none of them works every time.

Yes I know , but I was hoping thta there was a ripper that will rip all VOB files in a movie in to one complete file in mpeg4 format ?

For FREE 20 days, I'd use Slysoft's DvdMobile and AnyDVD. They are cheap enough too if you want to purchase them.

yes cucusoft can help you, it has has two ripping modes, one is "Direct Mode", the other is "Batch Mode".
1) "Batch Mode" means that user can select the DVD titles/chapters they want to rip via checkbox list. This mode is very easy for batch ripping Music DVD's, MTV DVD's and Episodic DVD's.
2) "Direct Mode" means that user can directly click the DVD Menu to select the movie they want to rip. This mode is very easy for ripping a DVD movie.

or you can go the free way and use handbrake you can get it at www.handbrake.m0k.org this software works on mac, linux, and now windows I highly recommend it.

You can rip DVD to iPod Mp4 with the free tools: DVD Decrypter + Videora iPod converter. Two steps.
