I'm reading all this stuff about Linux on iPod and Rockbox etc. What are the advantages for all these alternate firmwares?

And is it possible to choose which firmware to boot at startup? Ex. can I choose when powering on my iPod which OS to boot: iPod or Rockbox?

If not, then which firmware should I stick to (which OS is better?)

Are there any other handy essential mods/hacks that I need to be aware of?

For the iPod video, I prefer Rockbox, but only if you want games on your iPod. You CAN boot the original firmware by holding Menu when your iPod is powering on.
