Well I have a 7600 GT and I'll get a new card when the Nvidia 9 series comes out and prices go down. Sorry guys, I guess I can't share your misery.

Oh man, come join the x1950xt misery clan! lol

But anyways, my sn is Waymon3x6 on AIM, so you can im me if you want... As for the 1gb doing worse than the 512mb version, I have no clue why that would be. Can you shoot me a link to that review? Thanks

Oh this is pretty cool: http://www.crysisdemo.com/crysis-demo-do...ts-ea-store.jpg

It's a screen shot of the crysis minimum system requirements that were posted on the EA web site, but then they got deleted :(

Damn, 16GB of hard drive space! Thats one hell of a big game!

One more thing, lol. Here are the bench marks rich wanted from my antec 900 case. I played BF2 Singleplayer 64 on Daqing Oilfields for about 25minutes, and here are the temps:

GPU Highest: 47.74C
GPU Lowest: 38.50C

Environment Temp Max: 35C
Environment Temp Min: 33C

CPU Max: 141F
CPU Min: 106F

(GPU core was at 675, mem at 837, cpu at 3.75Ghz, and tidewater on full)

I fixed the problem by turning off shadows, it now runs at max 2560x1600. The shadows on FEAR are very tough to render. To max the game out fully and it run smoothly all the way round you'd need a good 15,000 3dmarks at least.
I think Abuzar has a PCI express system so he doesn't need to join you!

LMFAO XD

Of course! Now the HDD-space is going to be a problem for me, and maybe more people.
I don't have an extra 16GB.
But too bad, I'm not going to buy the hyping Crysis.
Love the revolution in effects and everything though.

It surprises me the minimum still goes down to 2.8GHz P4 and 6800GT though.
But yeah, probably with pretty low settings and especially not DX10.
The minimum requirements they mention are always too low anyways.

Hehe, on my local drives I only have 1GB free on each. My 500GB WD is now filling, 200GB left...
I'm not as excited for Crysis as most people are, mainly because it seems to me more like a tech demo rather than a game. I note that most footage out so far includes demonstrations of the graphics and physics rather than much gameplay. I'm sure it'll look and run fantastic, but as a game? Dunno, I'm not convinced.
The minimum settings of a 6800GT are incredibly high for a game, probably the highest I've seen.

Can you guys recommend a good PSU between 701-800watts? I've been looking on newegg and cant find one I like. I am looking at the OCZ, the thermaltakes and Antecs, and cant find one that has good wire managment and a good brand.

Mindset A says: Get the Thermaltake Toughpower 750W
Mindset B says: you'll never need that much power, get a Corsair HX 520W.

Bah, sleep? never!
Not even a quad core rig with two 8800s needs 700W, power usage is a myth, created by cheap power supplies. When people buy a '500W' power supply that isn't enough, it's not because they need 500W, it's because the cheap ass unit can't supply any more than 150W. A corsair 520W unit can power an X1900XT-X with an X2 4200+ without even leaving minimum fan speed.

Btw, what do you think of this PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371010

I need a modular psu, and you think 650watts will be enough to power three HDDs, a 2900XT and some fans, as well as a mobo, etc. (Basically I'm going with the system I posted before)

Yeah I do have PCI-E, I'm hoping to get a 8800 GTX after the price drops.

@Ray
Man can you edit that image? Makes browsing a pain. I added you in aim btw.

@Sam
Did I even tell you why I got really good frame rates in FEAR? I turned off soft shadows. They don't improve it all that much and they use too much power.

Does anyone else have aim?

It's funny, I turned off softshadows and it made no difference. Turning off shadows altogether is what bagged me the result.
Waymon: the power supply is probably ok, Antec make some good, some not so good. Why not the Corsair?

I really like the cable managment system in the back, where you can just plug in the wires you need, and unplug the ones you dont. Besides, I have an antec right now, and it works great. (not to mention I have an antec 900 case, I need long wires and they recommend that PSU)

I have a modular PSU too, and it really keeps things tidier by disconnecting what you don't need.

Well, antec would of course recommend one of their own power supplies, the corsair has the same modular setup, long cables and it's also well built, probably better built than the Antec.

I'm leaning toward the Crucial, just because it has lights in it...

What a ridiculous reason to go for RAM! There's a much bigger rebate on the Patriot sticks...

Yes, but I never do the rebates... Since I'm not paying for it, I would want something that looks cool, and has very good performance. Could you recommend any other RAM that's compatable with the ASUS P5W DH DELUXE.

Thanks

I have crucial ram. I have gotten it from 400 mhz to 535 without rasing the voltage. Also the stock timings are 5-5-5-15, while I run it at 4-4-4-12 while overclocked! I would say go for the Crucial. If you want a known good overclocked go for the Crucial Ballistix Tracer RAM.
