i have an ipod video, 30G.
usually all my videos work fine, except rarely sometimes a video won't go on my ipod.
the video works on the itunes perfectly and seems completely normal like any other video except when i go to sync my ipod it doesn't load onto it. it seems as if the ipod can't see the video, so it ignores it. :S
if anyone knows how to fix ittt PLEASE HELP :(

Before you convert your files, please bear in mind the general limits which the iPod carries~ H.264 video: up to 768 Kbps, 320x240, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats. MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 mbps, 480x480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file, you may need to reconvert your video, take a look at tihs forum step by step guide using cucosoft http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/297023
another try is to shorten the video name to a simple one and sync again.

Same Prob.
I can play movies and listen to music in itune. Only after transfer:
When I click on MY iPod (to see what media is on my ipod) there is an Exclamation Point on the left of the file name (!). And it will not play the music or video. This just happened recently. And I know about converting to MP4 and all, in fact I always download in mp4 format.
1. What does the exclamation point mean?
2. What is different now? I have done the same process for over a year and this is never happened.

It means that iTunes can't find the files on your computer. You have to double click on the files in iTunes and show iTunes where the files are or re-add them to your library.

Sorry I should of been clearer. filsner's problem will be fixed by my suggestion, and cheryl27 run your videos through an iPod converter because the files have to be mp4 when they go on the iPod.

ive tried everything like re-adding them, deleting then adding again, changing the name to be shorter.
and i always use videora ipod converterr
but i found a solution for anyone who has the same problem, i just right click and click "Convert Selection for Ipod"
and then i sync again and it works :)

Yes that will work also. But the problem with that are certain files that mash the audio and the video together that makes the iTunes converter convert with no volume. But since it worked for you I'm glad to hear that. ;-)

Thanks Jazo,
I know that the exclamation point means the file cant be located, I usually right click and select get info, then select the proper location of the file. And I use Videora all the time to make sure they are in mp4 format.
But my problem is an exclamation point next to the file name when I am browsing the contents if my IPOD in itunes. For example: When I click on my ipods name, it shows me all my information. Then I click on the "movies" or "music" list to see all my media.
This is where I am seeing the exclamation point next to the file. Meaning it has been transfered from my HD to ipod. And there seems to be somekind of error.
Could this be a corrupted media file? Or a corrupted disk on the ipod? I occasionally get this error message " File cannot be transfered, and unknown error has occured (-69).
Any Clue here Jaz?

The files play well in iTunes right? If so, try restoring your iPod then re-syncing and it may fix this problem.

Hey Jaz,
If I restore, won't that delete all existing media on my ipod. If so, I know there are apps to transfer all the media to my HD. Is that legal? I mean I can't see why itunes doesnt have that option.
Anyhow, all is well. It must by my old box. Because I have not problem transfering the same movies on my girlfriends itunes.

If it is already in iTunes, it will stay there if you restore. It just wipes your iPods media, not iTunes. Then you can just resync when its done. ;-)

acctually i think youll find that the ipod video does not support the .mov as i have tried this look in the collums and right click then kind this will show what format they are in if in .mov or movie file then you need to convert it.
