Thanks for all your help. Currently my computers performace boost has helped me alot, especially in competing work. I could never get work done whith the 512 mb of ram but with 1536, getting work done is much easier. My computer feels like its a core duo becuase of the speed boost.

Wait til you get a duo core, then you'll really see a performance boost.
(I just built myself a new one with a duo core and a 8800gts card and a nice sammy 22" wids screen monitor, god i'm in heaven LOL)
If i was you, just like others have suggested find a good custom computer shop in your area and get them to build one for you.
I personally build my own for friends and for me.
Also computers from big box stores have poor or low quality motherboards and alot of noname parts in them.
Good luck with it.
Peace all

Well, two problems:

1. You need to edit the game's config file to allow that resolution
2. My Graphics card isn't quite powerful enough to run that resolution with the detail turned up to max.
I've been running the game at 2048x1536, and leaving a black bar to the left and right of the game. It means I still get a pretty large picture, and it's running native (so no interpolation to smudge the picture) but I reduce the performance hit.

Yup, I used to run it at 1600x1200, it looked awesome.
Have you completed the game before?
The ending sequence at high resolution...

I did complete it, but that was on my old 19"lcd.
Looking forward to finishing it on the new monitor.
Did you get the expansion pak (Extraction point) and if yes is it worth getting?
I've been eyeballing it at the store, but not sure if I wanna buy it or not.
Geezzz we really got off topic here LOL

My graphics card does, but there is only one problem. The graphics card has a 7 pin s-video where as the tv has a 4 pin s-video. What should I do?

Ok I have a sony VAIO VGC RB40

same specs as above except....

vid card: visiontek X1550
2 gig ram.
Windows Vista

My pc works fine since I upgraded to that, except I still have problems gaming. The newer games like halo 2, Bioshock, my pc begins to choke a little. Not too much but enough that I really have to consider just buying the games for my xbox 360 instead because it will be a lot easier.

Now I want advice on what to do...

Buy a new processor (Not too sure on how to install one or even if it will be compatible with my mobo or my 32 bit programs.)
Buy a new PC
Pay someone to build a gaming rig for me

The weak link in those games is not just the CPU, it's also the graphics card. That is what is bottlenecking your games as much as anything. To be fair, it's probably best to get a custom built gaming PC setup, if you're not willing to build one yourself, get somebody else to do it for you. If you're a PC gamer, you should never have to consider getting the 360 versions for 'it runs better' reasons.
