Why was that relevant? This was about connecting a PC to a TV screen!

yeah I know but slowly the conversation brought up other concerns and ideas and id like to have good knowledge about this stuff before I decide to actually make a tv into a screen. I hate wasting money so I want to know if making a tv into a pc screen would be a good idea..
Ur probably asking why don't I just get a bigger computer screen. The reason is that I want to have a tv in my room but the room is too small but where my PC screen is I have a perfect place that I could put the tv...

My bad, I didn't see the second post you added, that was more relevant.
As for the PC TV argument, it all depends how much you have to spend. If it's going to be a reasonable amount on an HDTV but you're short on space, I can think of nothing better than the Dell 2407WFP. It has an HDCP compliant DVI port (for HD material or a PS3), a component input (for other HD sources like an XBox 360), a composite and an s-video input (for two other sources, like a DVD player or satellite/cable receiver) along with the standard VGA port, supports up to 1920x1200 resolution (higher than an 1080p TV), is compact, lightweight, has a removable stand, and is cheaper than a normal HDTV.
Are you sold? lol

I'm not really a serious comp guy and I just like to kick back and crack one open while I play games with my friends, but I just finally redid my computer it's not SUPER amazing but I really like it, so I have my computer to the right in my room on a desk and a 27" tv to the left of that, but I cannot tell you how fun it is to download a movie in 15 minutes and then just clicking a button and getting it on my TV, even tho Im not the best at BF2 and would be much better if I use my 2000dpi razer instead of a xbox controller using JoyToKey it's still a world of fun to play on my TV so if your video card supports S video just pick up an S-video to AV cable for about 5 bucks and youll really enjoy it =)3

I play online on a big LCD screen, it's called an Xbox 360 lol. BTW I think very many people know more than a bestbuy employee. All the are trained to do is memorize all the extra Best Buy warrant information.

I have had eight break down, and even after that I manage to LOVE my 360. You need to stop complaining, what else is out there? Make a 1000+ computer? Maybe you want to get a PS3, but oh wait you can't actually use it to play games because there aren't ANY! Maybe you would like a Wii, but all the games I see is Mario this and Mario that with a sprinkling on Metriod topped with more Zelda. Just to let you know I have all these. Alright so this is getting off topic(I'm sorry I guess I started it). Anyway the guys problem is resolved so this thread should be over and if you want to take a stab back at me, PM me :).
Again sorry for going off topic.

last thing... dont get me wrong I LOVE 360 I will not settle for ps3, wii, anyother shit out there. Sure xbox 360 tend to break and I can accept that, Im just fed up with them asme emails asking if I canceled my request for repair service because I never sent in my 360 when I never receive a prepaid box to ship it out. They best get on their game or I may have to settle with age of conan for pc

Oh I don't mind its going off topic..I got the info I needed...but really? I didn't know the new xbox breaks like that..I don't have any systems, just trusty old PC..I think Sony should pull thier game together..start creating better graphic games for the psp and so on. And start creating more games for the PS3.I think its cuz they are concentrating so much on the hardware part of their products that they don't create good games and concentrate on the important stuff..

Up until 2004 when I first got a PC with a Graphics card worthy of note, I was an avid console gamer, I had an N64 and PS2 which I used a LOT! I only really played Rollercoaster Tycoon, Worms, Doom (and I even had that on the PS) and a bit of Rage Incoming on my PC.
(note to Microsoft, my 1997 N64 and 2002 PS2 still work today, and are the original units bought)
However, when I got a powerful PC, I started to migrate towards PC gaming, and now that's where my interest lies. It's unfortunate, however, that a large number of multi-platform games are made for the 360 first, then run through an auto-compiler to become the PC game, with no error-checking. It means most of such games are unnecessarily demanding or have way too many bugs (Ahem, Double Agent!)

My launch PS2(s) broke numerous times. Sony was REALLY bad about replacing them, refusing to even pay shipping.
When my launch xbox 360 broke Microsoft had it replaced in 5 business days(including shipping).
My lauch xbox is still running strong, as is my gamecube, super nintendo, NES, and my Playstation. Also the Sega systems are still fine.

Well mine has never broken so far. The 360 just about still works, and is only 8 months old. It hasn't even been used that much.

For me in order to play the game I had to play it in safe mode otherwise it went very very slow and also sometimes during gameplay the game just shut off and i lost my data..and I'm not the only person it happened to before I read stuff about it on the net..

Fair enough. I don't play it regularly so perhaps I wouldn't notice.
