Problem with VCD Header trick

I have done the VCD Header trick to trick my DVD player (which is not SVCD compatible) into playing an SVCD format movie. It plays fine on my WINdvd program on my computer. However, when I try to view it on my DVD player, I only get sound and no image. Am I doing the VCD trick right? When I multiplex my original SVCD movie, its extension is .MPG but the output is .mpg, is this a problem? Also, when I burn the multiplexed movie with my Nero 6.0 Burning ROM, under the Burn tab, should I check Simulation or change the Write method to Track-At-Once instead of Disc-At-Once? Please Help. Thanks.
