All decent power supplies have overhead, so you can go marginally over the rated wattage before they shut down, some PSUs advertise it, so it's not such an unknown quantity. For good PSUs it's around 50W.

In the antec 900 case where is the best spot to install the HDD so it gets the best cooling and it wont bump up against the GPU?

Well, any slot except for the one that's on the same level as the GPU. Surely you didn't need me to tell you that!

Ah well, you said it not me! lol
I generally put my hard drives in the upper slot, simply because the warm air from them is sent directly to the fan at the back of the case, rather than having to 'climb' up via the chipset first.

Nah, your not an idiot, your just learning.
An idiot nevers asks questions and learns the hard way.
Your asking questions, so that proves your not a idiot.
So have you got this computer up and running yet?

Waiting to see a couple pictures.

The HDD and the DVD drive are coming today. CPU and GPU hopefully friday. Should be finished Sometime this weekend? Hopefully?

*i was asking about where to place it because i took apart my old computer so i could get an idea of where to put everything. The GPU in the picture looked kinda big so i was seeing if it was going to bump up against anything*

Well, simple! If it fits, do it that way. If it doesn't, you can take out the hard drive cages and swap them. Since they're exactly the same you can effectively move your hard drive to the bottom of the case by doing that. No unscrewing the drive required!

No no im an idiot. Believe me. Haha as demonstrated here.. I put in the CD/DVD drive no problems (unscrew the faceplate put it in screw it in) and i also undid another faceplate below that. *I thought the DVD drive was big, i was wrong of course*

Anways judging off of the pictures would someone kindly enough point me to the location where i should be putting the HDD. Or if you could circle it or something. Im retarded and need all the help i can get.

On a side note the speakers came today and i tested them out with my 360 and might i say it sound COMPLETELY AMAZING. Its SOOOOO much better than the standard t.v speakers. Except now i dont want to un-plug them :( Might need to buy me another set..

Oh and what the heck is that black circular thing in the center? Is that for a cage fan or something?

The black circular plastic piece is probaly for mounting a fan, thats also the hard drive cage assembly, You gotta remove the thumb screws, slide it out and then mount your hard drives, then slide it back in and put the thumb screws back in.
The manual should explain all this to you.
Read it slowly and follow the instructions, don't worry you'll be fine.

Andmill: One solution to your speaker issue is to use two sets!:P

OK to avoid confusion:

Remove the black surround attached to the hard disk cage. (it's an additional case fan location, but it really isn't necessary)
Remove the thumbscrews in the arrows indicated by the BLUE arrows.
Slide the cage out in the direction indicated by the GREEN arrow.
Put the hard disk in the location indicated by the RED arrow.
Put the cage back, and put the four thumbscrews back.

If the drive is in the way of the graphics card (highly unlikely) then do the same but using the cage indicated by the PURPLE arrow. You will obviously have to use the other set of thumbscrews.

Unsurprising really. My hifi speakers are amazing compared to the TV speakers (Philips MC-70). The 2.1 speakers I bought for my PC were awesome compared to those (Z-2300) and the 5.1 speakers I now have are awesome compared to the 2.1s (Z-5500). Considering I never use the earth shattering end of the volume spectrum, we may as well own the same set lol.

I love cranking mine up when playing FEAR, my favorite part is in the office building when the guys are running around over your head, really scared the crap outta me the first time. Sounded like they were everywhere.

The Assassins? They're awesome. Scared me more than almost any gaming moment in history. Doom 3's scary and all, but moments like that in FEAR make Doom 3 look like Super Mario.
I love the ambience when you meet the assassins for the first time in Extraction Point (the bit with the water tanks). It's also used in the original game when you're with Alice Wade in the lift, and Alma's just appeared in there with her at the penultimate floor. I liked the FEAR soundtrack so much I extracted it from the archives. Makes for interesting listening.
FEAR's one of my all time favourite FPS games.

Thats them the assassins, I had to take a break for a few to try and calm down a little, really gets your adrenaline going.

Doom 3, bah it was easy and not very scary, there were a few go jumps in it, but nowhere near as good a FEAR.

Hehe agreed. I can't wait for Perseus Mandate, only a few more weeks. Indeed, I also can't wait for Project Origin, that looks sweet.

FEAR files is just the xbox 360 'gold edition' of the game, as it will include the game and both expansions.
Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate are the two expansions included in FEAR Files.
FEAR Combat is the free multiplayer-only client version, and Project Origin is the upcoming sequel, a would-be FEAR 2, but not called such due to copyright issues, the game's publication having changed hands.

Yeah i heard about that. The 360 version looks like crap though *graphically speaking* i was extremely pissed.

I went ahead and installed the HDD in the lower cage. I was too lazy to finagle with the extra case fan thing that was in the way but all is well for right now.

However the HDD was OEM (still dont know what it stands for) but it didnt come with any cables. Now im assuming it needs a SATA cable and im pretty sure i dont have any? Where can you get them from or what cables do i need exactly. Im assuming newegg would have them?
