Hello,
I'm running friidump 0.40 and it always stops in the middle of the dump, as if I was using friidump 0.3. I tried option «-3» and it stopped also in the middle, as if it could not read the second layer, it simply took longer to stop.
When I run friidump, I have this info, so it seems OK to me, but it stops around 45%.

Anyone else see this issue yet?

BTW, for all you guys "wishing" that there was additional drive support for dumping Wii discs, you need to try to understand that the LG drives are only able to do this by way of exploiting a firmware function that other drives don't have "exposed".

If you check the first of this thread, it will tell you how to rename the dump file, you change the -a to something,I think its -4 its too early for me to remember, but check the 1st page there is a post

Thanks Chilihead. I'm dumping using Rawdump and will circle back and try using the filename switch later. Rawdump strips the special characters and dumps ok.

A good dump of SSBB should be 8,511,160,320

This is what I got using Friidump .40 and it burned successfully.

Does the green activity light on the DVD drive blink for anybody while using friidump? I am using a TSSTcorp/CD/DVDW TS-H552L/0614 which cannot normally read the disc in windows. When I run friidump 0.4.0, it appears to making an image of the disc, however the green activity light is not blinking on the drive and when I eject the disc, friidump continues to be making an image of who knows what. It even went to 100% completion WITHOUT a disc in the drive! What is going on here? Yes, I am using the correct drive letter.

Check the iso it has created, also if you have other drives do you have a disk in it?

ISO seems to be the same size of the disc, and there are no other discs in my drives or virtually mounted. Can you try ejecting the disc after running Friidump and seeing if it does the same thing to you?

You are a genius Guyver521. Your DVD ISO worked like a charm. How did you create it? It may come in handy for future dual layer games.

Thanks a bunch.

Successfully got SSBB to work with Wiikey.

Steps:
1. Use Friidump 0.4.0 as version 0.3.0 will not work. (~9hrs)
chose start -> run -> type cmd to get to a dos window
navigate to active directory that contains friidump.exe
type command: friidump -d B: -a (where B: is your disk drive to use)
Post dump file size should be 7.92GB (8,511,160,320 bytes)

2. Burned ISO to DVD+R DL Memorex (~1 hr at 2.4X with verification)
Used Imageburn 2.4.0.0 to burn with auto layer break on (default
settings)have yet to have a glitch in the game
Nero 8 should work too

Note: I did attempt to use friidump 0.3.0 and it froze half way because it didnt know what to do with DL DVDs, but I used friidump 0.4.0 to continue adding to the original ISO from 0.3.0 to not have to repeat what was already dumped.

super big question right now.

been trying to dump smash bros and i believe i dumped it with 0.30 or whatever first, and it froze at 90%

the person who posted above me said they continued with the one from 0.30 with 0.40, and i now how .40 and i cant (for the life of me) figure out how to use the -s feature.

could anyone help me on this?

Put a switch!
Mine is stopping at 45%, crashing each time, as if I was still using friidump 0.30, which I don't. So I ended up putting a switch on my wii and kids are now playing the original. The harder part was to do a triwing by grinding a torx, since I didn't want to wait another week for shipping.
And curiously, once a while, the wii stops being able to read the original, while playing meta-knight, ness and peach, so they use the other characters right now. I'm wondering if my original is correct, since I'm not able to dump it entirely. Anyway. I've read everything, but found no way to solve my friidump 0.40 problem, so I put a switch, which might also help in the future.

I cannot help you with friidump, since friidump is not working for me with Brawl, that's why I have finally put a switch.
But for rawdump 2.0, which I used for all my other disks, I can tell you it doesn't support DL. There is an untested version of rawdump2.1 outthere, but it didn't work at all for me.

From what I see here you are using d: for both your hard drive and your dvd drive, you have to select where your fiidump folder is. So if your hard drive is d, then your dvd drive has to be something else

I just used friidump 0.4 with brawl and it said everything was fine. But the output file was only 4,294,965,248 bytes. Does this mean it only tried to burn a single layer? or a bad dump and try again? and is an iso_auto_file = iso? Thanks

This might help out some of you guys. I was also having trouble with friidump crashing. This is the command that solved it all for me. At the command prompt type: friidump -d d: -i ssbb -4, what this will do is stop friidump from generating an automatic name and will save if at ssbb. When the -a is used, any error will make friidump crash. Just remember to change the d: if your drive has a different assigned letter. Ever since I used the command, i've been able to dump the iso smoothly on 3 different machines. Hope that helps.

bpoint24 I have a Dos command prompt that creates them from iso's . I'm used to burning with those dvd files from 360 games . All the dvd file I uploaded did was make sure the layer break was at the correct sectors & the layout was correct . It contained all that info & when you opened that dvd file up in IMG burn the program just followed what the file said to do . So you had an exact copy of SBB with everything in the right place . If not you would have had to go in the options on IMG Burn & change some of the options . I figured it was just easier to use the dvd file . I'm pretty sure IMG Burn will make the dvd file for you also from an iso .

I can't believe everyone is still having so many problems . Friidump took about 6 hours to rip the game . But it was complete & evertything worked fine .

Hey, im using friidump for the first time after doing it the sd way for a while. my first one was done with friidump 0.3.0 and the dump (zelda) went well and was the correct size, however when i go to burn it with imgburn or nero 8 it says there is a write error before its even started burning giveing a big explanation and saying its sugessted as being write protected. in the explanation is a long line of numbers eg (this is NOT number for nnumber btw) 04 08 06 00 00 00 00. i remeber when doing a gcos thing i had to change some stuff with an image and it looked like that sorta layout. was wondering if i had to do the same with this iso to get it to burn

Thanks for any help
