You need to use the ip address you made static in your router and/or modem forwarding for utorrent.

If you can do it wired, do that.

Disable it, you don't need it with port forwarding.

I think it's time to call their support; support for my DLink was excellent. You could also reset your router back to factory specs and try again, this explains how, it's about a password but ignore that: http://tech.yahoo.com/blogs/null/11006. When I do reset mine, I do lose my internet connection until I reinstall it. Doesn't happen to many people but it is possible.

this is what they said
port forwarding is used only for gaining access to computers from outside a router. you would use it if say you were running a FTP server from behind a router... without the ports forwarded, the ftp server wouldn't be accessable form outside your network, but if ports are forwarded, when the user tries to access the router's ip from outside the network, the network will forward that port request through the router, and to the computer you specify.
if you forward the ports without a good reason, you are basically just opening yourself up to the internet for everyone to try to break into...
to forward a port, you need to login to your router, go into the applications part of your router, and specify a port range that you would like unblocked, and specify which ip address (the utorrent computer) that you would like the ports forwarded to, and enable that line
utorrent uses port 32459 by default, but you can change it within the setting if need be..
but like i said, that shouldn't have anything to do with utorrent not downloading

Well, actually the default port in utorrent may matter, some ISP's block the default port but that isn't the one you're using. They're right about opening a port to the internet but in years of downloading, I have never been compromised or heard of anyone that was, I'm sure it must happen though. Same as malware in p2p, I've downloaded hundred's, maybe thousands of files and never seen one. I don't really understand, what they said is the same as Port Forward.

v5 and up of your router don't use that patch. You can see any seeding on the main page, utorrent does show an intermiittent download on seeded torrents but it amounts to nothing, just staying cinnected.

Totally normal, the download has completed and you're now a seed uploading to others. You will see a very, very miniscule amount download at times (not all the time) in utorrent when seeding. Just a few kb.
