Seagate's repair process is really fast, as is WDs. They're both good brands, you can go with either. WD drives are usually quieter, however, but still offer blazing performance (It's also worth mentioning that Seagate 500GB drives get quite hot)

Newegg's down for me at the moment, but I'm going to assume it's a S-ATA hard drive you're buying, so you'll need a S-ATA cable.

No, with internal S-ATA it's a simple matter of one cable per drive.
Does your power supply have any S-ATA power connectors?

it looks to have two cables in the existing drive and next to other slot appears to have a 4 heavy wire connector which matches the other drive one.so i am assuming its the power feed..

That's a fascinating motherboard layout, never seen anything like it!
To answer your question though, it should go next to the orange cable towards the bottom of the picture.

I've never seen a board with S-ATA ports right next to the ATX power connector. Typically they're on opposite sides of the board. As for which cable you want, a S-ATA 2 cable (3Gbps) ideally. The only thing you mustn't get is an e-SATA cable.

It's SATA II, which is 3Gbps.
In all honesty that doesn't really matter that much, but it's a newer technology...
