Lol ah well, at least the problem's fixed.
About the Toshibas, I think that's good customer service, considering most companies probably wouldn't want you changing the OS pre-installed on the laptop. Did they say what impact that had on future tech support?

didn't talk to tech support just read their faq's. remember the warranty is for hardware not software.
