To start off, this is my first time to mess with my 5G ipod because I was more into my PSP before. Now I used google to research on how to change the themes for ipod and it gave me the ipod wizard 1.3. My firmware is 1.2.3 and I read the tutorial carefully. It says there that after I extract binary to from ipod I can load the theme that I downloaded. So it says there that I should load all and then choose the thme that i got got. I follwed it and clicked on write. It says that it was saved and I should disconnect my ipod. It restarted just like how it was described to me in the tutorial, however, when it booted up, I still have the same old theme (original). Can anybody help me please? I'm such a noob in the ipod scene.
It is actually more simple to do, you gotta make sure to have the correct version of ipod, if you purchase your ipod brand new from apple store, on the box if you have the pic of Johnny Depp is a 5.5 if it has a pic of U2 is a 5. gen, now if you dont have the box, theres also another way to know, the u2 version of the ipod came on 30gb and 60gb. and the 5.5 gen came on 30gb and 80gb check the link to the apple doc.
once you have the correct firmware theres only 1.2.2 availble so once you update the firmware, make sure next time you sync your ipod with itunes to click dont uptadate, you can sync but it will ask everytime to update the firmware. check the link for the video i posted, if you need more help send me a private message and ill guide you thru.
I got the box with johnny depp's pic so it's 5.5G then. Is it the same process to put the theme? My frimware is 1.2.3 and the ipodwizard is 1.3. Im sorry if these questions were answered already but trust me I researched already. Do you mean that I need to downgrade to 1.2.2? BTW, I downloaded the 1.2.2 for 5.5G from the link that you gave but I just downt know exactly what to do with it. Do you have any walk through videos or something to helpe. This is so frustrating for me because I can fix my psp with no prob and I even fix other people's psp even if they're fully bricked and I can't help myself with this Ipod. Thanks in advance.
Hey guys. Well, i have an ipod video fifth generation. Recently, iTunes asked me to update the firmware to 1.2.3. I usually update the firmware whenever it asks. So i updated it. Everything is still good. Everything is fine. However, i also play around with my psp and hack it, nodify it. So my cousin got the new ipod classic 5.5 generation with the cool firmware. So i tried google-ing how to change my firmware, i found it. I downloaded the firmware, downloaded iPodwizard and everything. But it didnt work. im 90% sure it didnt work because of my original firmware 1.2.3. Apple has put a lock on 1.2.3 to ban iPodWizard and its tricks. So im trying to downgrade it but i cant. I was wodnering if anyone knew how to downgrade from 1.2.3 to 1.2.2 firmware. This would help ALOT. If you have the 1.2. update file nad the signature file, i would be GLAD if you can send it to me. It doesnt have to be firmware 1.2.2... aslong as the firmware is lower than 1.2.3. THANKS A BUNCH. My email is

Yea it dont matter that you have firmware1.2.3, i updated the firmware and realise after that it took my ipod classic firmware out, so what you do go back download firmware 1.2.2 from the link bellow just gotta make sure what gen ipod you have, if you got it new check the box, if you have the pirates of the caribean pic is a 5.5 if you have u2 pic is a 5gen, make sure you download the correct one, bellow i will put the link and apple link to verify your ipod model.
