Nero 8 Ultra Can't Play Blu-ray & HD DVD Movies...

Since Nero has been staying on v8.2.8.0 for a long time now, I guess they are having trouble trying to make their Blu-ray/HD DVD player work.

So I decided to go PowerDVD. I just bought this PowerDVD Ultra 7.3 and found it plays every Blu-ray/HD DVD movies I have without any problem! It also never jerk like Nero does sometimes.

So from now on, I will only let Nero do what it can do best: Burning! And let other work to the professionals. I really don't think it's a good idea to make an "All-in-One" product.

Actually I just downloaded that version last night and it took me almost the whole night. I haven't tried it yet and I will drop my "Across Universe" in first thing tonight and see if it will play.

I just tried "Across the Universe" with this Nero new version and found it works! So I have to give Nero credit for their improvement. But I still think PowerDVD is your best bet if you want to play Blu-ray/HD DVDs. Especially if you know you can buy a full legal copy of it for less than $10!

I too can confirm that the new Nero version does work with all 6 of the Blue-Ray titles that I currently have available.
It also works with ANyDVD enabled.
Too bad Nero decided to start taking payment for the previous versions which didn't work. Not ethical, but typical!
