Oh OK cool :D
and once I connect them both up, is a network automatically set up, or do I have to do it manually???

You will need to assign the two PCs IP addresses on the same subnet - e.g. give one 192.168.0.100 and the other 192.168.0.200.

Control panel -> network connections, Local Area Network -> properties. Do that for both PCs (though obviously, give them different IP addresses) - use subnet mask 255.255.255.0 as default and 192.168.0.1 as default gateway.

Just an update
Got the laptop :D :D :D :D (Acer Aspire 5930G)
I ran some benchmarks and I'm pleased with the performance.
UT3- All settings maxed out at 1280x800 AVG 45FPS
CoD4 - Everything high/full with x2 anti-aliasing at 1280x800 AVG 43FPS
Haven't tried any other games yet but will do soon
I will also connect my desktop and laptop soon, as you said above to have a LAN game
Thanks for all your help
