covers the price points. and 4850x2 will be competing against the GTX260
they have said the partners and choose memeory types (GDDR3/4/5), how much memory, shader clocks, meemory clocks core clocks, HS Fans.
basically everything.
brilliant. ICEQ HIS one for me :)
and its meant to be heavily optomised aswell. both cores will share the memory, so thats much better than each having its own already,as paging will be alot more efficient. and they will comunicate though the memory (and with GDDR5 have a massive bandwidth, itll be much better than the PLX chip used last time)

Hmm, sounds like a better idea. I doubt the ICEQ cooler would work on a crossfire card though, so it'll be interesting to see if HIS develop a new cooler for it. Unless they do, dual cards are still out for quiet PCs as there are no aftermarket coolers.

there are aftermarket WC HS hehe
yeah agreed. but seing as they have to make their own cooler for this card(s) then they will (im sure) make probably the ICEQ 4

Haha, not interested in watercooling thanks. There was a time when watercooling would be necessary to get good cooling for top end stuff, but not any more.
What I'd like to see is a high quality cooler with decent heatpipes that uses multiple fans of a decent size, or one large fan - I don't really mind if the heat goes into the case - decent case fans could cope with that fine.

1. Yes, but don't buy open box motherboards, they can be prone to going wrong.
2. Because one GTX280 is miles faster than one 8800GTS, so it's sufficiently fast to be better than even a 9800GX2.
3. Yes, because they're the same thing - that's all a 9800GX2 is.

here is another question. How much would the following PC be worth:
Dell dimension 9200 (yuck)
Core 2 duo 1.8 GHz
Geforce 8800gt 512
4 GIG's RAM
Sound blaster audio card
firewire card 3 slots
8 usb slots
And what if I include a 22` monitor and what if i don't?
What do you think?

The P5K-E does not support SLI, so you can't use both cards with it. Only nvidia chipset boards support SLI, and to be honest, they're pretty pants most of the time. If you're sticking with nvidia, keep using a single graphics card.

m8, im sorry to say, that board ONLY does crossfire, and eevn then at 16x and 4x, the PSU would be fine though, and yes you need a ribbon, which will come with an Nvidia mobo.

Indeed, whereas with crossfire, the ribbons are provided with the graphics cards.
