On my Win XP Pro SP3 computer , I have a SamsungDVD-Rom SD-616T drive, with the latest firmware :F310 . My problem is that recently, the drive

Thanks for your replies.I bought a new Maxell DVD Optical lens cleaner, ran it and now the drive is reading disks again.I had a older drive cleaner but it looks like it no longer works.
But your correct about the drive being old, and I will have to replace it sometime .I guess I'm trying to get more miles on the old drive.

That cleaner disc was probably half the cost of the cheap Lite-ons out there.
