gborman, i believe its better if you buy a pc than mac though.. i know it's not a ps2 topic but somehow buying a pc is better than mac because you could mod ur pc and not only that since ur majoring digital media, there's a lot more digital media software for pc than mac and maybe you could upgrade your xp to a vista =).. anyway its up to you, turn your old comp into a gaming system. but thanks for more information about the memory i remember about it so i guess maybe the memory could be stored in flash drive and when you have ps2 you could transfer that data to a memory card.. fun crazy ideas. anyway i was wondering though does it only work for ps2 games?

girl42, thanks for the advice on the PC instead of mac. I already have the Final Cut Pro for Mac, but I'll look into your advice, thanks. As for does the Emulator play other games i guess you mean Xbox and Gamecube...I don't know but I will find out.
Have you received your Gamebridge connector yet? If so is it any good to you?

YAY! I got the emulator working. I didn't have the keyboard as game controller configged correctly.
girl42, I just tried playing an XB0X game (Munch's Oddysee) that I have as an .ISO but alas it hasn't opened.
Yet.......
Now I have something new to tinker with.......now lemme see......where did I put that Pre-360 X-Box --> PS2 numberscruncher routine I was working on....

gbroman... i received my gamebridge today and i was happy from what it looks like so far... cant take a picture of it but.. it was all good.. the resolution isn't that great because i have it on full screen... but at least i could play my ps2 and 360 on it... im so happy...the only bad thing though is i cant do anything like.. aim or anything on because it needs to have at least 100% cpu usage which it sucks, overall its awesome. now i have more things that i could do for my laptop... thanks again... sorry about my bad behavior gbroman.

ps: I did see during my internet searches a mention about connecting PS2, X_Box,,,gaming machines directly to monitors ( computer and TV) and by-passing the computer. I think a connection box is still required but the direct connection eliminates the lag and the Computer CPU / RAM / etc usage.
Basically, the Game Console has all that in it already, does it not?
The connecting of a computer between the Console and the monitor is really an unnecessary middle-man.
If your laptop had its own input to connect directly to the screen then you would be able to do just that; which was/is the basis of your original question.
Like some LCD flatscreens have direct inputs to them. I'm not to sure about laptops as the screen is 'hot wired' to the computer. Are there any input sockets an the back / edge of your laptop screen?

well so far i felt being treated crappy... every body thinks im a guy but im not.. or a little kid in 360 but when i turned my mic on or look in my profile... they were like shock that im a girl... ps2 at least nobody treats me like a boy except for wildarms5 thinks im a boy... well i let him think that way... i never new that game consoles are only for boys... oh by the way, gbroman.. im really having fun on my game consoles right now... i will give you a picture sometime to see how it looks in my monitor.. other than that cheers for helping me and our adventurous quest on how to play ps2 in your laptop or computer monitor screen. =D not only that it works for my 360 too XD so happy... im inviting my room mates right now to play 360 but on my friends tv so maybe i might have another post... on how to set up a lan party XD...

gamebridge it only lags.. if the connection sucks.. or when someone aim.. but if i shut off my aim...and other stuff that i have.. i would be able to play on my laptop... its awesome... although the quality of the picture looks shaddy but i will show you how gamebridge adaptec looks....

Setting up a LAN shindig's a doddle. You'll figure it. I'll either post ya some info on the how-to-do's here or PM ya as strictly, its a new thread, I 'spose.
The LAG prob, I think if you can connect straight to your monitor does away with it. I'm not 100% sure because I've never tried it. All the tech specs I' have read imply that it does.
My favourite rave, ie, the emulator does. You have a game controller, I don't but I thinking when I'm in town today I'll buy one. Anyway, you happy enough at the mo with what you have .
As for the shady picture, I did read about the fix for that somewhere and I probably have links to it in one of my info-archives on computer. I'll have a dig around.
Post a thread on the image quality/shady subject. I'm sure there will be knowledgeable advisers on AfterDawn who will give you some good advice.

sorry about the delay of me putting a picture.. i was having too much fun on our lan party yesterday, also me and my friends have to do some stuff to get ready for spring semester, and i guess it caught me off guard about the time and stuff.. about the picture hopefully i would be able to do it tonight if i can =D.. anyway about the fruitfly... thank you for calling me a fruitfly i guess... i mean are you telling me that im a dominant creature? lol.. all i could say is that if your unsure about my gender and how i look.. check my profile and i would post my picture in there... =D and also about my laptop.. it is actually just windows vista basic with 2 rams(i added it just to make it fast.)i have so many things in here like stuff that you cant even imagine like stuff for my computer science class, and its funny how i bought it for only $280.00 in best buy.. during black friday here in america... i have another gaming laptop called XPS gaming computer.. strictly for pc games only =).. but i am trying to build a gaming computer so i could play pc games in it with a good quality of GPU when i have the money XD and do my stuff in there... well thats about my laptop and here's what it looks like:

Beauty. Glad you having a good time playing the games and that you got the LAN Party up and running. I'm trying to connect up with a mate 1800km away in Auckland (NZ)to have a LAN game with him but he's gone into Hospital for X-rays on broken ribs that not healed properly in 4 months. When he gets home I'll have a go at it.
I made a few enquiries to another Help site I am registered with (PCW PressF1) about setting up to play online with my mate up north and one of the Higher-up people( a Moderator in fact)replied as follows:

But, you seem to have that all sorted out because you have been LAN Partying and good on ya.
I have just looked at your laptop's specifications. How the heck the shops can sell a computer running Vista Basic with 512MB of DDR 11 RAM i don't know. Hell, XP needs that to wake up!! eh.
Still you said that you have added more to it, have much do you have in there now?
Do you connect to the Internet through the 56K modem or an ethernet (Broadband). BB i expect if you manage to LAN games at speed.
I am just off for a midnight shop and will be back in about an hour. I will ask your advice on the setting up of LAN Parties and about your Gamebridge. You don't have to apologize about late pictures or anything Ok. Have fun :D
