i've read a few threads are searched for results. Most have the threads closed due to copyright protection. anyway, is there a program/software that can convert my dvd films to divx so i have the luxury to watch more and use less space? I know some quality will be lost.

Is there a software that coverts from DVD to Divx? Thanks.

You can use a program such as autogk or handbrake to convert your dvd files to avi files. Both are located here on afterdawn.

do these programs allow to convert straight to divx or only to .avi? I understand that if it converts to .avi i can use divx 7 to change them to the divx format. thanks again.

Not sure about handbrake, but AutoGK converts to DivX and Xvid, both valid .avi files. Not much better out there for free...

U can try SPAM which can help you convert dvd to divx or other formats. It always works for me.
