I recently got a new computer with lg super multi burner. It works great on cd's but not dvd's. It won't recognize blank's, I've tried different makes, it will only play original dvd's. I have all my data and programs on dvd and I can't access any of it. Help pleaseeeee

The company I got the new computer from disappeared shortly after.
Anyway, I did what you said and got the firmware update, and still nothing. I have verbatim and TDK disks, neither one is recognized.
I tried contacting LG too with no luck.
Thanks for your help. Any other suggestions?

I was stumped by an xp junkheap doing this a few months ago.. replacing the malware riddled and rootkit (securom) disabled os from scratch cured it.
