With the Barton's I would say, given the right chipset, that wouldnt be a problem however the TBredB's OC ceiling was kinda low.... you should be able to hit 200Mhz OC but watch the temps -- you may consider upgrading the HSF to something more "aggressive". Visit the cooling thread for ideas and suggestions

New topic new thread... really.. thats the only thing thats keeping this place clean .... harsh enforcement :)
To change your multiplier, goto your bios and usually the line right after where is says the final clock speed of the chip, change that multiplier (you may have to goto Manual mode). Make sure you change your Multiplier slowly and test at each stage :)

While overclocked at the same level can run a compltete 3dmark 2003 test and send an image of its results, or a log file? I'd really like to see them.

Nice speed for that core, but I'm still giving a recommendation for the Barton core, because water cooling isn't that cheap. Barton hits those speeds for $85. BTW I want a water cooling system too, tweak-em as long as you can.

ide never think u could get the 2000xp that high with normal cooling, have a m8 trying to run his 2400 normaly and its at 45c but the system keeps crashing, as soon as he drops the chip to 2200 it runs fine at a temp of 40c. so underclocking the chip is the only way to get it to run, we cant think why it is doing this

Ive tried the Volc11+ and the Volc12 Extreme ... thats a damn nice speed youvoe got ('course I was using a KT400 so that prolly chops out half my OC potential)

I havent read all that you guys have said but from what i can see you guys only got it to 2.0 ghz and i just wanted to let you know that you can actually get it to at least 2.2ghz... mine is at 2.281ghz (12x190)@1.65vcore.So far the highest on load is 52. I dont think thats that bad. But for some reason i cant go to 200 fsb... not even 8x200 or anything like that. It might be my ram though cuz i have some horrible pc3200.
ASUS A7N8X-X,XP2000+ "unlocked" OC ot XP3200+

That's exceptional for a Palomino and 2Ghz is a fair estimation of the avg OC potential for most Palo-2000s (at least its been the case for all the one's, except one, that ive dealt with).

I tried to find the OC limit for my Tbred-B AthlonXP2000+ and I ended up with hair-standing results :))
It works fine all the way from 12.5x133 to 12.5x168 with increasing temp of course (i have only the stock HSF) from 50 to 62°C (it's ok, but u sweat if you play long :))) ). Then I tried to change the mulitplicator as well.. with 13x it works fine until 160 MHz, with 13.5 until 155, with 14x until 149, with 15x until 143 (but it's really hot more then 67°C), and finally with 16x 136 (it's even hotter and not too stable). Oh, I forgot to mantion the voltage... so it's 1.6V in the beggining up to 1.85V @ highest speeds. The best temp/speed up OC i found out were 14x136 MHz 1.725V and 11.5x166MHz 1.725V, both 100% stable and not running too hot, only about 5-6 degrees hotter then normal (max 58-59°C) while boosting up performance by some 20-25% according to Sandra 2004 testing. I hope some might find these lines a bit helpful.

very low budget... :/ I can't even afford a new cooling. anyway, what would be your suggestions on this? which cooling (affordable, let's say 30-40$ max) ?
I already read the whole Official PC cooling thread, yet i'd like to know your inputs. The only fans i've got installed are CPU, NB and the one on power supply, no add-ons.. Oh and I left my case opened at one side - it helps for me to keep it cooler when i do the OC (if temps around 60°C might be regarded to as something cool ;)) )
