I've tried some more images, inc:
Blade V2.2 Final: Not all channels and jumpy / Choppy / non existent RTE
Commando 9.2: No channels at all.
Blade Trinty Revisted: Great pic on all channels except the Irish ones.
I cables.xml into var/tuxbox/config/zapit as Dsleeper did but no change.
Any suggestions?
wiz569 quick question:
I am not able to use the settings you gave above in two images, Andromeda and Sportster. When I go into service scan it just skips over those options. Do you know of any way I can change these?
thanks

hi oggnogg
just tried that image, no change.
Most channels ok except for the Irish ones and 16 others.
This was about the same as Sportster, which I used with services/bouquets from your site.
Would just like to get the Irish ones working, not really bothered about the other ones.
any ideas?
thanks

Back up your cables.xml, boquets.xml and services.xml.
I think your best bet is to get the mgb's cables.xml from irish.zip. I think it goes into the /tmp/tuxbox/config (it confused me, as i was putting it in var/tuxbox/config and nothing was changing)
Don't forget to delete scan.conf
reboot, by pulling the power to the box.
Then do your scan using bf n*l, then you should be up and running.
That should sort you.

I did a rescan but than I didn't get any Irish channels at all!
I'll try again with a different option for Bouquet in Service Scan:
leave current/update/cable-bouquet/erase all/create new.
Which one should I select?
thanks

I did a load of rescans in Service Scan for Bouquet, eg leave current, update ect, after I put in services/bouquets/cables and I did not get any Irish Channels. BBC 1/2/3 ect would always be the first channels.
I put services/bouquets/cables in again and reloaded the channel list and then the Irish channels came up at the beginning, but without a picture for them. Most of the other channels have a good picture.

I'm not having any luck with the Irish channels.
I tried loads of different settings with ucodes and emu settings.
Even put on an Emigma image and still the Irish channels were choppy.
At the moment I'm using Blade Trinity Revisited. After I did a scan, the Irish channels were quite good, but after about half an hour they went back to their usual chirpy selves.
Here are some stats for RTE1; Could this be the reason I have a very choppy reception?
Would a booster help, as the cable from the box is only about 1.5m?

BER should be zero. I have seen this high BER before, once was a dodgy cable where the outer bit was touching the inner bit on the coax. Another was a dodgy NTL box. Try putting your NTL through a video or dvdrecorder, even your old pace box if you have it, then pass the out feed from that unit to the dbox. Sometimes a video can clean up and boost the signal.
I am putting both nokias and sagems on gbox now, 001A, with only rom 7 enabled.

A few music channels seem to have been swopped around on me today. One is changed to setanta, another to dctv etc. A scan should rename them, but they will need sorting.
Probably NTL trying to mess up boxes again.

Ok, had a look at mgb's cables.xml and its out of date. Some TP's missing, some out by 5k. Will explain some of the jumping.
Anyway, try overwriting your cables.xml with this one, then scan for U*c Ire Dub.
The BF one takes a while and is quite long due to some trickery that the cc is up to.
As far as can remember this gets copied into the /share/tuxbox folder when using blade trinity
And as WIZ says, remember to delete scan.conf file from var/tuxbox/config folder, and pull the plug before doing the scan.

Lads have read through quite a few of these posts but see it up to 107 pages. Was hoping someone can help me with a problem I am having with a Nokia DBox2 running sportser 1.7+UK85 image being used on the NTL MMDS network in Dublin.
When i do a scan for channels it seems to pick them up but when I go to view them I get all the info of whats on the channel but no picture or sound. Here is what I am doing,on the menu I press
Dbox Menu/service menu/service scan/
Cable Provider: NTL MMDS BruteF
Freq: 258'000
Symbol rate:6887
and then click scan
IT picks up 9 transponders and about 95 TV channels which is the same as my eurovox. I then clik to save settings and go back out of the menu. When I click on a number it will bring up all the channel info but as said before no picture or sound just a black screen. Is there a secert menu on the DBox2 like there is on the starviews to activate the EMU?
Thanks alot

But isn't Smart an IP type TV service? If thats the case then a Eurovox TX won't work as it is ONLY FOR CHO**S MMDS. Smart's tv comes through the phone, so I dont think any box will work other than Smarts.

I updated the cables.xml to add a TP I left out. Use the u*c Ire Du*l scan and you should get another 10.
How many did your scan find?
Here's the new link.. cablesds03.zip dublin n*l after 17Feb08

Can they send a signal down that makes The Box inoperable?
N** user in dublin. if someone connected The Box by mistake through Pace N** cable box, can they send a signal down which makes The Box useless? I had scanned & been watching all the channels the previous day. thanks a million
