Thanks for the tip! I am downloading Replay Media Catcher now!!! These flash files from American Greetings even took some time for CI DAEMON to figure out, they are that protected. I am a paid member and it burns me up that they made the two files from last season totally unavailable, even to view on their site. If this works I will let you know, and thanks in any event!

this soultion does not work with looped files, any idea how i get around this issue? correct me if i'm wrong, but when i got to my "temporary internet files" the video im trying to save will not appear as a complete file, because there is no end to the file according to your machine, so it does not save it...
so what is the secret of saving looped videos, any idea?
cheers

No luck whatsoever with Replay Media Catcher. I am still trying the very last recommendations written by CI DAEMON. I have identified the ihost URL, but simply cannot determine what is the "cardnum text". If anyone can possibly help me with to download the current swf file on AMERICAN GREETINGS I would be grateful. Thanks again to the member who responded already. Say---how do I contact a member by email? Is that possible? I cannot find a profile on either senior member I am trying to locate about these files.

You might Give RM Catcher one more chance.
Best way to try and make sure is to close Internet Explorer or Firefox then start Recording. After Recording open your Browser go to where the video is at and play it.
If something appears in the RM Catcher window then you are recording.
When it finishes a green check mark will show up next to the file.
You can not play it from there, you have to go to the directory where it is stored at to play the file.

I am hoping someone might help me find a way to save swf files from
www.brainpop.com
these are animated educational videos (SWF) that i want to use in a setting where there is no internet connection available.
I was only able to download a few - by searching for the files in the cache - but a few days later even THESE were not playable for some reason. The screen simply turns white.
I'm stumped.
If anyone wants the challenge, I'd be terribly grateful for any direction.
passwords for the site: bcps / brainpop
Hope to hear from somebody....

Is there anyway anyone can help me get this video? http://video.reeltalktv.com/player/?id=192582
I've tried to use the different methods described here but they just confuse me, I'm afraid.
Thanks.
ETA: Never mind. I got it. Thanks anyway!

Hi, I'm in need of some help! I'm trying to copy an embedded video from Jibjab.com. I was trying to follow your directions that were posted, but i had a problem right from the get go. When i right-clicked and got "page info" and looked in the media section, there are no "embedded" listed to copy to my desktop and to proceed any further. Can someone help with the steps for this particular site. Thanks so much for your time,

Well, hello guys ;-)
If no one recognizes the name, it's alright. It's been a year since I've logged in to Afterdawn (exactly a year, strangely enough...I did not intend to do this) and almost 14 months since I opened this thread. Since the last guide I wrote for this thread, I see it has expanded a great deal beyond my initial intentions for it...several people including adriftr and jondavis (and others) have certainly helped to continue the "legacy" of helping people out with video download. I was incredibly surprised to find this thread still completely active, with both questions and answers (although, to be fair, not as many answers as questions anymore) after a year of my absence.
I apologize for failing to maintain it on my own, but the trials of school and all kinds of other time-consuming tasks did not permit me the time to continue investigating and posting guides as I did before. Strange words for an 11-th grader, I guess, but whatever. Unfortunately, I have never since been able to devote the time and effort necessary to doing this kind of work for the community, and I apologize for that. Since my taking leave from the site, I have received many, many private messages asking for video help, and I again apologize for being unable to help in most cases. To anyone else who would PM me for help, I recommend that you send your requests to more recently active users, including the two I named above. In addition, this thread remains a viable resource for anyone needing a bit of help, as well as a good source of volunteer potential for anyone willing to help out others. I cannot say that I will be able to write anymore (although, fairly, everyone has probably found that out for themselves over the past YEAR ;-), but the generous and knowledgeable volunteers here in the Afterdawn community certainly will.
I know this post has perhaps been a bit off-topic...actually, looking back, it has nothing to do with the thread at all. I understand that the hard-working mods here at AD will be sure to correct this soon ;-), but understand that I leave this post as a commentary, or a compliment, on the work of everyone who has continued to maintain the service offered in this thread. It has expanded far past my name or my initial expectations, even without my own work, and appears (to me, at least) to be a true example of how amateur volunteers in a community such as this can perform appreciable and commendable work, though they receive nothing but contextual praise in return.
And so, I leave you, perhaps for another year. ;-) My thanks to everyone who helps out here, and everyone who inspires them to. Perhaps I'll start writing again once I'm in college and have more time on my hands. If not, there are plenty of others here, many who are more skilled than I am at this, who I'm sure will cover for me.
Brilliant!

Hello Folks, I'm new to the group and I was wondering if someone could help me out. I'm in real need of a Flash video of the following link.
http://www.myfoxny.com/myfox/pages/Home/...Id=1.1.1&sflg=1
I've tried several times trying to download this .swf file without success. Could someone help me? I work for a sanitation company called Ecolab and I was wanting this report to show my hotel customers the cleanliness of hotel rooms. If someone could tell me how I could dload this video it would be much appreciated!
Thank you!

I tried some techniques written in this thread, but nothing worked for me!
I'll be very glad to hear if someone knows how to d/l videos from this site.
Youtube is too easy, but this one seems to me to be tough :( Or maybe it's just me...
Nothing is better than scoring a goal, nothing!

Here's what I did, I found this using Replay AV...
http://release.theplatform.com/content.s...ehk6V-X6AT1vZLs
I entered that into my browser, gave me an error...
"This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below."
It then displayed the rtmp address above...hope that helps
