Windows XP log-on issue. Going into "Admin" requires 2 logins. I worried that I've got a bug. I am running the AdAware, Spybot, etc. sequence as I write this. Any legit reason or problem why I should have to log-in 2 times? I have the sneaky feeling that I'm loging in right the first time and then being directed to log-in again to reveal my log-in info.
Frankly, I'd rather be kayaking. Donald

Problem with double log in stopped but get this. Installed Netgear wireless router last week. Windows deleted the remote for no apparent reason and last night the entire network was gone. Wiped clean as if it was never there! Nothing in Recycle Bin. Does Windows XP keep a record of activity? HAs anyone encountered this? I'm off to Netgear's support now and will post my results. PS I had just cleaned up with the usual Spybot-HouseCall.

the Adaware SE and the Spybot works really well too but when i try to run the housecall trendmicro scanner thing, it seems to not work, and i was wondering if u can use housecall trendmicro on Windows 98 cuz on the requirement thing, it said that it only support Windows 98ME. And also, when i try to use the Adware Away Program, when I press the scan button, it scans, and everything goes smoothly until the part after you press the Fast Fix button, it doesnt seem to fix it,so can you tell me wut it should say after you press FastFix? Also, for the Adware Away program, when I scan all of my hi-jackers, it will say that ten malware was found, but I don?t get the part about the ?Now, find About:Blank Hijacker (Real blank page ) in the top right hand box, then select Remove? cuz I don?t see anyting on the top right hand box, and I don?t noe wut you mean.(srry, I am really bad at using computer, and this computer is really old and is full of viruses, so I cant use Internet Explorer and can only use Mozilla Firefox)so it'll help alot if you can help me!! thx! :-)

hello,
I have got a real mess on my PC. I was lucky to found your help on this forum. All the steps have been taken, but some virus can not be removed. So i have run the Hhijackthis.
I have also this file scrprpnl.dll in the window32 directory, it is detected by symantic as a virus, but cannot be removed. Anyway, Microsoft told me i have at least win32/apropos.B, WinNT?zufyx.A, Spyware.Apropos.C and Trojan.Win32.Crypt.t
