lads is there a box u can get that updates itself every time they change the codes.. i completely useless with these boxes..

Try the Starview PVR. It seems to be the only one that's rolling over automatically. I'm actually selling one on Ebay if you are interested. Username Homerclesse for details.

Can somebody help me with this big problem:
I am using The Box, and I updated the code last night using the remote control after losing most of the stations. The stations all came back once the updated code was entered, however there was no EPG. I rescanned to try to get the EPG working, but I lost all the stations again! I tried to enter the code using the remote again, however, the option to enter the code has now been removed. How can I get this back?? The steps to enter the new code are as follows:
Select 'Menu' on the remote --> Select to 'Parental Control' --> Select 'Change 2nd pin' --> enter the new code in here.
The option 'Change 2nd pin' is now missing from the 'Parental Control' section. Somebody please help!!

Your question relates to "The Box" and not "dbox" or "dbox2" Your in the wrong forum. menu 1570 then move to nagravision and enter the codes will work. Epg is slow on the box, be patient.

Please help! I have had my Dbox2 for a year and it has been fine. Last night I lost all premium channels.
I have read the instructions for entering new keys via the remote.
my keys are different to the new ones listed mine are
N5C01 01 FF6CC6A0EB8002EA
N5C01 00 SB5B2811F2F09D5E
I SEE THE CODES START N5401 ? I AM IN SUSSEX.
ANY HELP. PLEASE?

n5401 is the provider id for n*l ireland yours will be different cause your in england

"the box" seems to have made it through OK, as mentioned. Only thing that puts me off "the box" is that if the idiots were so stupid to come up with that name, then christ knows what other things they messed up! They could be only a step behind messing it up with some change in keyrolling. Also I think it is not open source so you might have no help when they change to nagra 2. Nagra 2 is already being broadcast in ireland, it is going to change over eventually.
It has got to be the worst name ever for something that sells mainly on the internet.
The name of this thread is "dbox in Ireland", dunno how some many people seem to miss that.
The last 4-5 pages also have detailed info on what a lot of people are still asking.

Sorry still cant manually update my dreambox 500. I have a Dream multimedia remote, so I dont have all the dbox keys some of you seem to have. Does anyone know if a dreambox 500 can update automatically, and if so, can someone give me a step by step, beginners course on how to do it!! I dont have any of the lingo either! I can do it either on a PC or manually, whichever is the easiest, PLEASE!!! Dublin and desperate for the return of my tv

I thought you had a dbox. I think on some 500c you should press the yellow button instead of the blue one. One one 500C I was able to change codes in another area, searching around menus within the coloured keys. It was called something like manual update. Try the yellow button first though.

ok im on telepest...west midlands
just downloaded the bigmaqs toolbar (you can google and find it easily)
i got the keys with extreme ease
here they are:
00 - 45 1E CE 02 A2 58 79 86
01 - B5 AA 58 2D 64 5E E1 05
all working fine as of now (17:36)
