Thegad,
Email me at adamryan@live.com, I'll gladly hook you up with a program that most people have to pay for, but that I'll give to you for free. It can download games from that site you've linked. I just tried it on the duck game, works perfectly.

Hi,
I've just gotten rid of tv and am only downloading tv torrents, but my wife loves the home and garden channel as well as the food network, and I am trying to download her videos of these shows.
On this page:
http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv56/videos/index.html
I've gotten to the part where I think it is an xml config file. Here is the code:
----------------------------------------------------------
<object width="576" height="638" data="http://common.scrippsnetworks.com/common/snap/snap-portable.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash">
<param name="menu" value="false" />
<param name="scale" value="noscale" />
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" />
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" />
<param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
<param name="flashvars" value="config=http://web.hgtv.com/webhgtv/hg20/snap-configs/hgtv-player-fullsize.xml&channel=13037&channelurl=http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/channel/xml/0,,13037,00.xml&videoid=" />
</object>
---------------------------------------------------------------
These videos are being constantly updated, so I would really like to download it every week.
This is where I am stumped. Can you help?
Thank you.

That's easy, and you don't need windows movie maker. The best way to do it is to convert it to .mp4 (if it isn't already), and extract the video from the file in QuickTime.
This process is fairly easy/quick to do:
1) go to movie properties (press Ctrl + J)
2) deselect "sound track" so that only "video track" will be extracted.
3) a window should pop up with your video track. export the video (Ctrl + E) to your preferred directory (desktop, My Documents, etc) and voila, you're done!
To the guy who said use Windows Movie Maker: that is a horrible suggestion. Even though I personally LOVE WMM, I have to admit that you lose clarity often when the original video files (if they aren't in original .wmv format) are converted to .wmv after you export the file.

Hey, I'm so sorry your comment got overlooked.
Here you go:
http://www.filedropper.com/cranappleminiscand8159adf
It downloaded in ".FLV" format, by the way. If you don't have a player that can read that format, I strongly suggest Video LAN's VLC Player. It's free and can play almost every type of media file available. If you're unable to download it for any reason, let me know and I'll convert the video file to a more convenient format for you.

DBCDebacle,
Here you go:
http://www.filedropper.com/sarahklein-yogatoday
It's in ".mp4" format which can be played by iTunes and VLC Player. I strongly suggest VLC Player, of the two. It opens faster and can play more files.
Tell your mother-in-law I say hi. =]
-adamryan
p.s. i found out why the streaming video is so fuzzy. the video resolution's height-to-width ratio is SUUUUPER TIIIIINY! but don't worry, if she's only wanting to watch it for instructional yoga she might not mind it. you can stretch the video out to a decent size in VLC player, btw.

Since you like challenges and I found this a little over my head, I have to ask...
I am dealing with a video that originally looked SWF, but after looking through the URL I found this and was able to isolate this...
http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/flash/...090128flash.mp4
It the video I am after but it downloads as only one frame. I'm guessing it is a container but I haven't figured out the whole Hex Editor deal.
All help is appreciated greatly. Thank you.

Zillator,
1) Here's your video:
http://www.filedropper.com/cunningham090128flashmp416a045cb
and
2) Trying to figure out the file's source location using the Hex Editor process is a bit difficult if you're a n00b, but don't worry! There exists a much easier process. Read through the previous posts I've written, and if you have any questions or would like to download more videos just let me know. I'll hook you up with a program that can nab anything.
cheers,

Thanks for your work adamryan.
I do have a quick question as to which program you used to playback the video... When I used FLV player it just shows 2+ minutes of black with no sounds.
I will look through some more of the posts to learn some more about this particular process...
Whatever info you can forward me is greatly appreciated...

Carly,
1) Here's the video you wanted:
http://www.filedropper.com/tegansara-moshcam
2) It's in ".flv" (Flash video) format. If you'd like me to convert it to something more common like ".mp4" (iTunes, Quicktime), or ".wmv" (Windows Media Player), or ".RM" (RealPlayer) just let me know.
3) The way I did this was by recording the streaming RTMP using a bit protocol recorder. It may sound difficult but it's honestly quite easy. You can use (and I suggest this if you're a n00b) the free program BitRecorder [by Applian] to get the job done. Just google "Bit Recorder Applian", and find their page. It's a free download.
It's a great alternative if you're not too sure how to use the more advanced ones like WireShark.
4) If you're having problems with BitRecorder not grabbing certain videos for you (be sure to read through the 5 most recent pages, by the way. i've covered a lot of material already.), feel free to email me at: adamryan@live.com
or MySpace: www.myspace.com/adamryan
or AIM: adamryanx
or MSN: adamryan@live.com
Cheers!
