hey I'm planning on picking up the R200 soon, I recently bought a hundred pack of glossy labels though. Would I be able to put those on a disc, and then print to it? Just didn't know if the disc printing feature was only setup specifically for the printable discs, can you choose any options (ie glossy, high quality, etc)
Thanks!

I do not know if you need the R200 to print on labels.
I only recommend to buy inkject printable media.
I do not understand after all these posts of users reporting playback problems, that some people are still willing to try with labels.
BUY ijp media. It's easier, faster, and you will not have potential playback problem.

Uhm, ok, thanks, but my question was -

As for playback problems, I don't know anything about that. I've backed up nearly all of my movies (around 160 discs) and have never encountered a playback problem with a disc that has a label. Thanks anyway.

It would probably be easier to just print the labels first and then stick them on. In addition to printing on cd/dvds, the r200 is just a regular old inkjet printer. To answer your question though, you could stick the blank labels on and then print as if you were printing on a printable media but like I said, it would be so much easier to print the labels first and then stick them on.

ok, that's cool. Just a pain sometimes lining them up right and all that, but I've got a good template set up. Soon as I get through these I'll go printable, thanks

I you need compatible cartridges for that Epson 200/300 printer below is a link to a ink store that I have used for my Canon compatible compatible cartridges for the past year. Fast delivery and I really cannot tell the difference in the finished product as far as ink quality is concerned. The prices are hard to beat! Just look for yourself!

Has anyone found/made templates for the Epson R200/300 so we can print from photoshop or publisher, etc, instead of using the epson print cd software that came with?

I'm just curious.
Assume that you have template, then how does photoshop/publisher control the cd/dvd tray ????

Cartridges for Epson R200 or R300 Fits both.
go to Meritline.com
They have combo cartridges for the Epson stylus r200 and r300 (fits both).
They are now 47.50 with 20.00 coupon and free shipping. Makes just 27.50 for 2 black and 1 of the 4 other colors.
I have ordered several sets since this is such a good price and the ink is just as good as the original. Friends of mine use this site for their ink also.
Also good prices on prodisc hub printables. I use -R 8x and they do fine.
Also another good site for ordering printable dvd blanks is www.rima.com. Their shipping is 9.95.
Both sites have hub printables and stacking ring printables.
I have used Prodisc and ritek and both work fine.
I might admit I dearly love my Epson Stylus R200 printer. Use it just for labeling DVD disc and printing DVD labels. Print quality is better than my HP photosmart printer.
So much for that if you have any other questions you can send me private message.

Follow up to my post concerning ink cartridges for Epson R200/R300. Even though Meritline.com has the 20.00 coupon, I have ordered for quite some time and I have never had to pay more than 32.00 for a 7 cartidge set of ink from their website.
They are not Epson brand of course. Made in China. I can not tell any difference from them and the Epson Brand, just the price.............

I paid 28.85 inclding shipping from Abacus for a complete set. Anyone have experience with this ink?
Also, does anyone know how to change the default file locations in the Epson printer software so it defaults to a folder other than the epson folder? I hate having to say open and then navigate to the correct folder every time.

I have bought my ink as well as DVD media from the same place and I still say they have the best pricing.
Keep in mind it's all CDN pricing and you can get the third party Epson ink from him as well.

Highly recommended!

Personaly I find the quality of all the Epson Disc Printers to be very GOOD.The quality of their Disc writing Program is VERY Good. All details on the Disc is readable even in the smallest Font size.Once you've mastersd their program(VERY SIMPLE),you will find their is a multitude of things u can do.Add your own backgrounds, add text to original labels, which I love because I can add the Date I purchased the DVD.All features have cut & paste, which saves alot of time.
I use so much ink that I buy here, their ink is of good Quality,& the price is right.I buy in quantities of 5 of each colour, that way I can receive an added Discount I only Pay $4.95 for ea Cartridge.Plus the Shipping is only $3.95.All my orders have come Priorty mail 3day or less.
P.S I have found for every set of Cartridges u use you will use 1 extra Blk,& Yellow. So order 1 extra of ea.
