There is no "best" P2P application, in the end, it all comes down to opinion.

And have you read the forum rules? http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2487

Case: Pirated material, such as serial numbers and direct links to pirated, copyrighted material (including direct links to torrent files and ed2k links). PROHIBITED

I'm on Bulldog in the UK. Their deal now is 8Mb for £17.50 a month.

You do have to get a phone line with them too. But it is identical to that of BT as far as I can tell. I now have voicemail, which is something I didn't have before.

Bulldog set everything up, and cancel your existing contracts with whoever you're disconnecting from.

One hapy customer.

I mostly prefer bittorrent. I use it a fair amount, with always good quality. It still gets spam, but people are able to post comments on the file. So people ALWAYS(if popular) tell you what the file contains, and even its quality. A movie that I have seen out there on the sites has been posted with 20 minutes missing, but people report it, and someone ends up splicing the film with and movie that is missing a section too. It eventually makes very good, full quality movie.

Basically, its a good community. It has saved me a few times because big brother has posted a few big fake files, trying to screw us(on torrentspy).

One thing I did like about bittorrent was that you could post directories, which I don't think you can do with limewire or others. Plus a nice feature is being able to download only parts of the file(Great for downloading games in split .rar format, because it is not rare that there are corrupted files. Imagine you download a game that is over 3 gig and a section is corrupt....).

lol, yer bit torrent is the go, but its only good for new stuff that comes out, u want something thats 6mnths old and i bet u dont get it, yep irc and packetnews are great for lots, tho i think packetnews isnt there anymore, for mp3 i used winmx but that suxs, i used limewire and warze etc etc, but the best for mp3 is Gluz, it has everything, ive searched everywhere before and only gluz had it,also it has programs, documents and pictures and videos, im on 512 adsl and i get 40-50kb/s on it, its only thats annoying is that the fastest internet connection i can get is 1.5mb/s in australia, altho in city u can get cable 10+mb/s or satelight if u can afford it:( tho australia had allready started to bring in 8-16 + mb/s connections:D to everyone, tho some people are still on 56kb/s

Thing is.. with IRC you areput in queues on the file, whereas the more people wanting the file the better!

When they are downloading it, they are still constributing to it.

DON'T FORGET TO SEED WHEN YOU'VE FINISHED DOWNLOADING

u hit the nail on the head. it all depends on what best suits your p.c and also depends on what types of files you share. i find limewire(pro) best for music and ares best for programmes but it just depends on u.

50 bucks for a 5MB connection. Thats about £27! Jesus! I pay 20 quid for a 512kb connection ($45). Yet again another case of us Brits getting f*ckin ripped off! And also being left behind in technology! I can't even get access to a 1MB connection as I live too far away from the exchange server. BT need to stop dragging their feet and get their fingers out their arses and get this sorted. God I f*ckin hate this country. Pay over the odds for outdated technology! And don't get my f*ckin started on taxes! This place is a f*ckin shit hole RIP OFF BRITAIN!
hahaha

omfd sounds like me!!!!!!

my mate in the states pays the equivalent of about 33 quid for an 8 meg nd i had to wait for six bloody months for them to fix me up with a 512k because it weren't workin. lol

I find the best combination to be bots on IRC and Bit Torrent, between the 2 you can't go wrong.

With all the speed talk, I'm paying for 3mb down and only getting 1mb but it is unlimited so I'm stuck.

Jenns, it depends on your connection. Do you know what your full speed is from your internet service provider? If not do some speed tests, you might only get 50kb because that is as fast as your internet is.

512 is in bits, when you say 50 you are talking bytes. To find out how many bytes you have from 512, divide by 8. 512 = 64 bytes. Your 50 is around the max you will get, set your upload a little lower then the max upload speed, about 3kb under. Full upload can slow your download speed as well.
