don't need it ....... I have Ultimate TV(like Tivo) by Sony and Directv and I can convert it to DVD! I also have 40G ipod, too, with 30G free space on it! I have big surround sound stereo (sony) with Bose 10.2 II tower speakers and also the Bose 901s with Jbl rear and Yamaha subwoofer! I blew away my brother's $10,000.00 surround set when he was staying here in my house! My set is less than half of his! LOL I don't need any more toys. I just have to get a life now! all I seem to do is record DVDs! hahahaha

oviously i can load the film and the blank at the same time and have it down to about 15 mins from start to burnt disc
@Daz1969,

No offense here, and really I didn't mean to pull anything out, but seriously I doubt you can completed from start to burnt disc in just 15 mins.

@IHoe,

Yes... I agree with you when "burning on the fly" 100%. However, I wouldn't recommend doing that kind of method backing up dvd movies though. I wonder if he meant, he used DVD Shrink to do the "main title" only and have Nero to back it up?? As far as I know, DVD Shrink "can not" handle any of the newest/latest dvds encryption. I'm not an expert on DVD Shrink, but I've done a little more than 20 plus movies using DVD Shrink and Nero, and sometimes DVD Decrypter in the past and still use it now to do my back up movies. Thus, I'm having a hard time to believe that it's only taking him (Daz1969) 15 mins from "start to dis burned". Or does he only meant it took him 15 mins to do the "encoding/compressing" by using DVD Shrink alone, then burn with Nero afterward?

I was just being curious to what version of DVD Shrink Daz1969 has because he said he doesn't even needed DVD Decrypter to do the job first. For some reason I'm having a hard time believing this. Unless, there is a setting inside DVD Shrink that some of us "didn't" know anything about it.

Well I am sure the people over at Digital Digest would be interested in knowing how it is done because this is from there thread on problematic movies
Quote:
DVD Shrink can't backup movies with Sony's DVD protection system ARccOS?. Affected movies are mostly region 1 and 2 DVDs. This protection system uses deliberately created bad sectors that will cause a reading error when DVD Shrink tries to read the DVD

Very good point said there, arniebear. For some reason, I don't believe DVD Shrink can handle any of the new encrytions that was put on the latest dvd movies.

Hummmhh... I wonder how Daz1969 can do it without using DVD Decrypter to rip and decrypt, or AnyDVD and DVD43 to crack/bypass(decrypted) the encrypted codes first??

hi guys i dont know how i am doing it but all i do is put in the film i want to copy into my sony dvd burner and a blank into my pioneer burner open up shrink click open disc if compression is 100% i will do all the disc some i do all the disc others i just do the full movie without all the bullshit just because i hate it when it has to analise it first before decryption because the compression is less than 100%.encoding takes about 5 -10 mins depends on the disc then burning automatically starts within shrink because i use nere that takes about 6 -7 mins at the moment i am using 8x discs but for some reason then burn at 12x(i am not complaining) if i tried 16x it would only take about 4 mins . ido not knowe where you guys are from i live in australia maybe the discs are different here i dont know i have just done hitch and 7 seconds which are new here i am just going out to get sahara and my computer is nowhere near as good as yours i cant explain it would love to know how i am doing it lol.thanks guys

hi arniebear,
just looked at that link about sony ARccOS,i really dont understand it because i have done some of them movies and it points out that you cant do one of the movies because a boy jumps constantly on it and shrink cant handle it.the film is billy elliot and i have allready done it just using shrink and Nero i have just done sahara using shrink and Nero no problems,tell me a film you know you cant do on shrink and Nero alone and i will try it.i honestly havent had a film that shrink couldnt do.thanks.

Yeah, they do not put the protection on Region 4 disks like they do on Region 1 and 2. Most of the problematic disks come from these Regions.

I used to use Shrink all the time, I how have over 720 titles backed up. But have recently moved over to DVD Rebuilder, it takes slightly longer to produce a back up,but the quality is far superior to what Shrink produces. It is possible to get some very fast speeds out of Shrink, I backed up Spiderman 2 from first analysis to burned disk in 17 minutes. That was also burning at 4 speed.
