Almost all recent games are on DVD so you must back them up on blank DVD media.

Hey GLITCHED
Can u please help me.
I real all the features of all the MOD Chips that you talked about, but i can't find any that fits the one that i have in my V9 PS2.
I wouod like to know which MOD Chip i have in mine, i don't know since i paid a local company to install a chip for me without asking any questions.
Here's the problem, i don't want to open my game again because i made some repairs that i don't want to have to go through again and the wires are a bit short.
I have seeen the Chip once, i am sure that it is soldered, Let me give you the details.
PS2 DVD and CD based games boot normally without any fancy tricks.
But PS1 games and DVD movies require me to Hold the EJECT button when i turn on my game until the tray ejects (approximately 3 seconds).
Other that that it allows me to do anything, it works with my Gameshark, i can play my emulators on it and i can boot my PS2 mediaplayer discs.
Please help me determine which MOD i have.
I have tried searching, but all i come up with are MODS that require me to hold the RESET button in order to boot the PS1 games and DVD movies, and mine boots them with the EJECT
Thanks in advance

Don't buy from friendstation online!!! I ordered a premodded xbox "dream-x" from them 20 days ago for a christmas present for my son, they charged my credit card that day and I still haven't received it. I have emailed them 3 times and they will not respond.

You created 6 threads about that (which are all gone now). Do that again and go bye bye.

Looks like a lost cause. Won't open up the system to see what he has inside. We're not mind readers you know.

Does anyone know about the new DMS4 S.E. Pro? Should someone go with that vs. the regular DMS4 Pro? I have a v12 & have a few DVD9 games. It took me like 4hrs to backup my Xen0sagaI with two regular DVDs. I won't bother w/the rest unless i find a chip that will support a dual layer backup w/out rebuilding.
Thanks for this great thread, Glitched. I fwd this to friends who need help understanding mods.

I have a question to play DivX, would i just create a data CD/DVD with the .AVI files in it and finalize it to play it on my DMS4 Pro PS2 and it would work since it supports DivX?
How I make extra money:(for games/clothes/cable etc)

V7 PS2 DMS4 PRO flashed w/ ToxicBIOS w/ brand new laser, a 400c, the best PS2 laser out there & V7 PS2 w/ Swapmagic 3.6+

@mx1, it sounds as though you have a v13 PS2. Yes, it should work with DMS4 Pro or Lite, Crystal Chip or Matrix Infinity. Read the first post in the thread & do some research, there are opinions on each one. Just comes down to what features u want, reliability and price.

Hey Glitched. My PS2 says scph-50001/N. Is it any different from the 50001 you described just 'cause it has an N at the end?
