@J-Kwon, Thanks man, appriciate the praise =D
@DVDback23,
Trend Micro PC-Cillian is excellent proteciton, used it beofore and it proved sucessful, I reccomend it or you could just switch from Avast pro to AVG pro, then carry on using the firewall etc you were using or choose some from here.

@DVDBack23,
PCCillin Internet Security is excellent with a very user friendly interface.
I would also recommend Nod32, but not so user friendly. I had to get someone to set it up for me, but then I'm not very computer savvy. It does run silently in the background and is not a resource hog. Good thing was renewal price around $25 a year. (That's just over $2 mo. for top notch protection!!)

Question to rav009
First I want to thank you for all your information you provided but you wrote (you shouldnt have two real time protection clients for spyware/viruses ot anything running) now I have Norton system works and Microsoft antispyware & Ewido anti-malware at the same time so can you please tell me what should I get rid of to me I find all of them are useful and by the way I have Zonealarm firewall too.
Please rav009 let me know what is the best solution in which to keep.
Thank you very much

Simple solution, all you have to do is unistall Ewido's sheild by staring up ewido and on the status pad, choose "remove shiled".
Theres no need for it realy if you have the following running, you can just scan with Ewido whenever you need it, no need for real time with it.
Hope that answers your qeustion Krazymale, an thanks for the praise, all appricated =D, another pc securing guide is under constrution btw :D

rav009 you are the star thank you very much again you are very kind.
What I just did is I uninstalled the microsoft antispyware because Ewido Is rgeistered and fully licnsed as you said its the best and it dose all the job rather than microsoft antispyware.
I can always have the microsoft anti spyware whenever I need to.
Where you from rav009?

Yeh Ewido is excelent, you could keep ms anti spyware, just make sure it doesnt run in real time.
Just change the start up bu going start>run>msconfig, click the start up tab and un select ms anti spyware, it should be somthing like gcasServ.
Glad i could help.

You guys are aware that the safest thing to do is not go to any strage sites. (Just in case there are any kids on these forums i dont want to state what site i am talking about, but i think you all know) I read in a magazine that 90% of all viruses gotten are from these kinds of sites. Downloading a "free" video of 2 chicks normaly leads to viruses.....
Also, the other leading place people get viruses are in P2P shareing. Try not to download anykind of file that can have scrpit in it..... Music is good. Pics can now have script in them.... Pretty much everything but music, dont download....
3rd on the list was gamming site and/ hacks to game (maphack, speedhack, teleportation hack) I dont know why they are listed together but they were. I just dont worry about gamming sites. Most are safe. It is like a .3% chance. Or just always go into safe ones. (I am not positive about these, because their is no way to check, i am NOT saying that these sites have viruses but these are the ones i go to: www.ign.com www.gamefaqs.com, these are the ones i trust) As for hacks to games...... just dont do it. It is like the thing in the first paraghraph, you plain out dont need it.... Isnt it more pleasurable to get good in the game by hard work?
Overview:
1) dont go on those sites ><
2) dont download anything but music off P2P programs.
3) no game hacks
4) Dont be scared by game websites, but try to pick safer ones to visit
5) Just use common sense.
I am not saying dont get the programs listed here. I am just saying that even with those prgrams dont do these... You will be able to survive if you don't though. I personaly dont go crazy with it, but just get 1 easy to use virus protection program. If you computer is very important like your buisness computer, get all the programs. Then still dont do any of the above. Those programs cant help you if you go to so sleizy web site and download a 10min vid to "make you happy".
Just be smart.......

Hello Sephiroth,

You read 90%, hmmm I don't think the figure will be as high as that from just porn sites, but thats definately a eye opener, just shows you that you need to have common sense ;)

My advice would be just know what your downloading and be careful,ig you engage in p2p downloads use apps like frostwire and make sure to have pg2 running.
Quote: I personaly dont go crazy with it, but just get 1 easy to use virus protection program.
You only use a AV ?? nothing else??..No firewall etc?? :S
Basicaly, stay away from dodgey sites and use comment sense, best advice.
I have the perfect thing for this as it goes, its mozzila Firefox site advisor.
Great add on, i made a thread all about it in windows software discussin as i thought it was a great find, didnt get any feedback on it so it just fell back to about the 15th page or somthin lol.
Find the thread and download the extension, i can't seem to find it in google searches..

On this computer i only have a firewall(which i turn off alot), pop up blocker (i think that is in firefox) And nothing else that i can think off. I am running pretty dry here lol. AVG was on my old computer but i hated it so much. And i am haveing trouble finding out how to do this. My firefox doesnt have the same thing yours does. t.t

i've been using nod32 for several months and i have had no problems... i recommend it... i used to use avast... it works great, specially when it scans before startying windows... however, sometimes it didnt remove troyans... i also use spybot: searh & destroy and i can assure it works... it has lots of useful tools such as registry cleaning...
thx for the info displayed before... it turned out to be really useful... there is good inforation in this site
