yeah, you can get special disc cleaning tools off the internet etc.
EB games is good for having that stuff, sometimes even rental stores have it for sale but it depends if your lasers are burnt out or just dirty or scratched

lolololol, maybee there is a reason his name is mr. noob, maxell sucks! Verbatim is like the best media you can buy!lol, I've never had an error with verbatim, never, and I will never use a different brand, maxell is a cheap, cheap, brand, at least in my, and many of my friends opinion.

Yeah, same goes for me, verbatim are amazing for me and I will never turn to another brand unless they can prove they are much better than Verbatim and run hundreds of tests on them to prove it :P

lol, especially on a cheap brand like maxell, they are known as the $5 brand for a 25 pack you can buy at kmart, now I wouldn't trust that to be quality media, I am with you 100% brother, verbatim bros 4 life,lol.

Be careful? You could always take it to a local repair shop, you will probably have to pay though, the way I see it, I'll fix it myself to save £20 for some dodgy guy to spit on the laser and wipe it with his shirt, heh.

Hmmmm, you see when theres a problem with the ps2 is it the lens or the height of the lens, and also Iam 12 so I'll ask my dad to do it he works withs Lasers and cables and those things =]

Yes sometimes. You may need to replace your laser diode or even the unit itself.

Hey you see if you Use Isopropyl alcohol on a q-tipped cotton bud to clean the lens, will it damage the lens, do you first use the bud with the Isopropyl alcohol then you use a dry cotton bud over it or you leave it when you cleaned it with the Isopropyl alcohol.

I followed the guide, the game still does'nt work on swap magic it says "Not a Valid Ps2 disc" although my games load up REALLY faster than before, Thanks for your awesome guide, I think its the game, I might ship my ps2 and borrow my friends working copy of kingdom hearts 2 :)

may be dvd dycrypter problem with burnig(never works for me) ,try to use Nero.
ps:all my games use primodvd 2.0 burn on TDK(Manufacturer ID: TDK502sakuM3) dvd-r

Maxell isnt as bad as you people say,I have some Maxells and they code out as Ritek G05 and have been 100% on backups.
Its not the best,but its not bad.

Different diagrams for each chip, and for each version, which modchip were you thinking of getting and what version of mobo (motherboard) do you have?

It must be an internal error.
I just burned the Kingdom Hearts 2 iso onto a 8x -R Verbatim DVD at 4x and it works perfectly

Its not an internal error, my swap magic must be faulty...
Did it really work for you how did you burn it I dont really think people tell they truth I allways hear "It worked perfectly" and so on... by the way Mik3h the model number is SCPH-30003 R :)

Doubt Swap Magic is faulty, it's more likely an internal error, provided you are using genuine high quality media. I'm using Swap Magic v 3.3 and burned onto a Verbatim DVD-R 8x at 2x and works perfectly for me.
SCPH-30003 - PS2 v5/6.
