Yeah i could see why. I started the game with the standard board instead of the more complicated one. I like it better because your characters are limited to their 'natural' abilities. Sometimes its cool to have the game level up for ya! but i always remember levelling up and gettin excited cos you could customise what your charcter would learn next and all that.

Well i beat him after beating all the weapons (cept Emerald the bitch!! lol), so i was over L90 at the time. It was just a good fight and good character. The last boss for X was kind of lame, and i'm referring to the nature of the victory... The fact that you can't really lose!

LMFAO Ererald was a snat&h, (thats y gamefaqs exists I guess LOL) I do agree with u though, 7's characters have a spot in my heart(lame i know) making the final battle with sephiroth that much better.

Yeah that and the storyline was literally in a world of its own... The other storylines are often kind of contrived - and though the concept of a meteor ending all life on Earth upon impact could be called contrived, at least it was done in awesome fasion haha. Tell you what, when you compare Zidane and Necron (is that the last bosses name? been a while lol) to Cloud and Sephiroth.. it just doesn't compare!! Kuja was cool though... But Ozma wasn't as cool as Emerald! When i was about L65ish i used to shit myself when i saw that floating beast of death comin for me in that pissy submarine lol. Liked FF9 but it could be my least favorite methinks. Was epic but had something missing...

no doubt. Dont get me wrong ff9 is one of my favs(reminds me old school FF, part 3 was the sh!t) but I never felt a connection 2 the characters like i did in FF7(except Vivi, poor bast@rd LOL) The sidequests kept me hooked in FF9. Even if FF7 didnt have all the great sidequests, I still felt obligated to finish the game. I only wish more new age rpg's had the depth FF7 did, hopefully 12 is a good play (The futuristic setting reminds me of 7, lets hope its as good!)

Yeah hopefully. I really liked the 'job' style of character abilities in IX now that i think of it... But materia was good - how sweet was it when you saw the twinkle of something in a dungeon and on further inspection its a tasty piece of Materia? Lol especially if it was a red one!! I don't know about you but i thought FFXI was a bit of a mistake... all that online stuff i just want a great storyline and a kick ass battle system. And besides what could possible top WoW at the moment? Have you heard about the new game Squaresoft are bringing out with Vincent Valentine as the main character? It is supposed to uncover some of his past i think...

ya i saw a video for the Vincent spinoff, think its called Dirge of Cerrebus or sumptin like that. I wish squaresoft stuck to its roots, its lookin like a devil may cry or a run'n'gun type game. I have to hold all judgement till its released, but from what i have seen, I think the title could have been soooo much more..wait and c i guess:)

Its not that good to be honest I'v got the Japanese version of it and its like a mix between Devil may Cry, Resident Evil and FFVII.
Except from you can't jump like you can in Devil May Cry.

Ouch. That was one of the best things about DMC!! I'd rather they made it an action RPG kinda like Vagrant Story with guns - was that what Parasite Eve was like?

I kinda like the Parasite Eve series would of been scary as hell if I'd of played them when they were first released however abit outdated nowadays if you liked Final Fantasy VII then I highly recommend you get Advent Children as the English speaking version has been available on P2P for a while now.

For P2P subscription? Why not just get Azeurus (Free Bit torrent client) and find a torrent file for it... Nice and cheap ;) Or you could just leech of a mate who has it lol. I'm gonna buy the DVD when it comes out...

I'm a puss; im scared on getting caught with all those P2P programs, seem like "they" are cracking down more and more. I have a horror story also, but i dont want to write a novel in this forum. Timmy u feel that torrents are safe? I had utorrent but the idea of uploading turned me off of it:(

Oh dude, i think torrents are ok - heaps of pricks I know (I work at a bottleshop and get all sorts comin through lol) have been caught selling pirated DVD's and (here in Australia anyway) the cops just tell them to get rid of their shit and let em go. I spose when you think about the uploading part, that it is a bit of a risk, but look at all the hacky guys on these forums that are doing it without a care. Theres a risk element, but i think it is quite small mate. Horror Story hey, PM me if ya want, sounds juicy lol. And besides, stopping one person from downloading isn't gonna change a thing - it's the people who distribute it in the first place that are the ones that should worry. Think about Napster and all that sort of stuff (Morpheus too i guess). When Lars Ulrich (I still think he's a top bloke haha) sued them, no-one went for the users of the software, just the creators. All us small fry are pretty safe i think.

Great post Timmy, u had a lot of insightful thoughts about the whole torrent thing, thx for ur input. To me, it still comes down to this: a piece of software or videogame that costs 40 bucks or so isnt worth the severe penalties that come with being caught. Ill PM u in a while about my buddy's ordeal.

Thanks dude. Took a bit of head scratching lol. One thing i was often paranoid about was having burnt CD's in the car - my mate got pulled up once by coppers and said they gave him a bit of a hard time about it. But if they had've penalised him it would've been a hollow victory so to speak, because thats ridding the symptom not the root of the problem really. Your buddy's plight will be something interesting to contemplate i think SvtStang.

Another good observation, Timmy. Everybody and there mom has burned cd-rs in their car, and if law really wanted to be jackasses, i guess they could bust every motorist for copyright infringement if they wanted. Thats an interesting thought.
PS - Can I PM u? Only asking cause ur name doesnt link to a homepage.

If it makes you feel any safer theres an IP address blocker called Peer Guardian 2, it does the job and is really useful.
Also Final Fantasy Advent Children the English speaking version (DVDrip) has been out for sometime Cloud's voice sounds familiar but I just can't put my finger on it.
Anyway I'm not trying to endorse P2P as people will frown upon me however most torrent sites actually have legal disclosure stating this:
Quote: For controversial reasons, if you are affiliated with any government, ANTI-Piracy group or any other related group, or were formally a worker of one you CANNOT download any of these BitTorrent files. If you download these files you are not agreeing to these terms and you are violating code 431.322.12 of the Internet Privacy Act signed by Bill Clinton in 1995 and that means that you CANNOT threaten our ISP(s) or any person(s) or company storing these files, and cannot prosecute any person(s) affiliated with this page which includes family, friends or individuals who run or enter this web site. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this service or you will face consequences. You may not use this site to distribute or download any material when you do not have the legal rights to do so. It is your own responsibility to adhere to these terms.
Pretty clever if you think about it because they'd be breaking the law if they gained access to torrents on these sites.

It is a clever disclaimer, but I'm guessing if some hardcore rich a**holes (who would never need to pirate because of their vast wealth) wanted to put you away bad enough, then they could do something. I mean after all, half those torrent files are breaching copyrights to some extent. Two wrongs don't make a right though i guess...

If u read it carefully, it says gov cant prosecute any person affiliated with the host site, not ppl downlading the torrent. Clever wording, but it seems its just a disclaimer to save their asses, not downloaders.
Anyway, back on topic, how do u guys like the Digital Devil Saga series, was thining about picking it up 2morrow (cause finals r finally over, thank god)
