WTF is going on with this can people really sit and coomplain about $250 when they plan to spend $600 for a console. I've seen so many complaints since the console launch was announced. If nintendo gave it away for free people would still complain.

Xyqo, my little brother, that joke is now seriously old (for me anyways), and the reason people continue to complain about Nintendo is because they are haters. I'm just happy that I don't have to spend a whole month's pay to buy just the console and let the games for it wait until next month's pay cheque (this happened once I don't want to talk about it).
Kingston, Jamaica put yu lightas up...(actually I'm more in St. Andrew...but who cares!)

Well I like the fact that nintendo Wii will be a cheap price becuase after spending so much money on the other "next gen consoles" I will still have enough to buy A "wii" which makes me happy :)

I think parents are one of the biggest factors. They'll be getting wii over the others simply because they'll be saving

Yeha exactly that's what Im saying parent wil go for the cheapest system most fo the time unles they are rich or the kid is spoiled or if the kid just ones one. All the other poeple know what they are doing and they may or may not get the Wii.

250 is just waaaay too high for this system. It should have been 150 but certainly not more than 200. They got greedy. They could have really capitalized on all of Sony's problems. But paying 250 for a glorified gamecube is ridiculous. I am gonna have to pass on this system till they cut the price bigtime.

Well if you wait I'm sure the Wii will go down in price and then get it used so it is even cheaper but you would have to wait a long time for that to happen.

stop complaining 250 is nothing i'm 100% sure that the peple complaining like microsoft and sony and you people therefore cannot talk microsoft has a descent price but cmon sony 1000au yeah sure ill really buy one they think cause there customers no matter what price that they will go on their side well guess what sony customers are going to stop licking your buts after they see this price shamefull sony just shamefull and to the people that complain about 250 i never see you complaining about 600us or 399us

I like microsoft and sony just fine. I like Nintendo better.
But anyone can talk in here.
No one has said anything that could start a stupid flamewar (aside from the "glorified gamecube" comment, but that was retracted) so chill out.
Nintendo has released every system at $200. Nintendo has also stated that they are going for a mass non-gamer market. Now I am fairly confident that every member of my family can and will enjoy the Wii in all kinds of different aspects, but I don't see grandma shelling out $250 for it.
The Wii will have a stellar launch and everyone will be happy; but unless Nintendo has a plan to lower the cost quickly, I just don't think they're really going to capture the "untapped" market they want to.
$250 is an awesome value for anyone who plans to play video games in the next 5 years, if only from the fact that the 360 is $50-$150 more and the ps3 owners would've shelled out at least half a grand.
(The Wii also looks freaking sweet and is getting a lot of developer support, and that's just the beginning)
But is it really a good value for a college chick? Is it really a good value for little Sally and her Dad? That's a little tougher to argue.
