Hey guys I tried removing the update folder but it still says that you need to update to 2.81 to play the game? I also did as mentioned above, settings were the same.

No luck here either.
Hmmm. I used powerISO to resave the file after deleting the update folder...maybe it saved in an incorrect format somehow?
I swear 1/2 the fun is figuring out how to get it to work.
Often it works and then I wont play for days.

I am using devhook.46, many of Isos I have tried til not all work just fine. Just this one isnt working though we used the method stated in the thread.

Are you sure you delete the right folder? And what game you lookin for? Maybe theres a good ripkit for it in the net.

Its Ace Combat X, and someone said that you have to get rid of the update, so we deleted the update folder which is in SYSDIR folder within the PSP_GAME folder. The game requires you to have a Firmware 2.81, but people got it to work on current Devhook.

just go on ps2nfo.com and look for a ripkit. it will do the b*tch work for you.
In fact I think we would be fooling our selves if we have a community this large, and did not realize that there are some enemies present. |

Bladework, edit your sig to conform to forum rules of 50k instead of presently 108,580 bytes ASAP.
2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.

What is this "update folder" you guys are talking about on Ace Combat? By the way, I'm not talking about downloading the game, I want to buy the UMD. Will it work on Devhook .46?

yeah it is supposed to work with devhook .46, you gotta delete the update folder. I just don´t know how to do this, i used umdgen 3.5 opened the iso, deleted the files in the update folder then saved as cso and the resulting cso file is not working!! it isn´t even recognized by the psp

naw, i dunno bout that, it's just the case atm. (i've not tried running it yet, as i've not even resized it yet...need to transfer and burn some files to make room to manipulate some things) so right now i'm just going on what's been reported to work..

YES! Finally go it working. Another user somewhere mentioned to delete the update AND afterwards you go in to the devhook menu, go to OTHER-OPTIONS and change UMD SFO VERSION to 2.xx to 2.00. That did the trick for me as I too have devhook.46. Good Luck!
