I use the latest 1.7

You download from this page
http://psx-scene.com/forums/freevast/

Look for the sticky: Sticky: Official Free MC Boot Releases
same for ESR: Sticky: ESR - public beta

Well I usually prefer Verbatim, Sony or fujifilm DVD-R

I think memorex are crap and won't last long, they do work according to a lot of users who are using fmcb and esr.
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/303681

But if you want your media to last and work properly I would suggest the above.

I bought swap magic about two years ago to play jap versions of games....I love it and its so easy as well...none of that modding or complicated stuff. Thats the only reason I still have a ps2 I cant play foreign ps2 fighters on my ps3....least not yet. An awesome game if you like fighters is garou:mark of the wolves.

jakmx,

You should burn it at 4x. A slow burn is a good burn.

smokyrain,

When you use ESR to patch, you can't just patch the backup, right? You must patch the original game for it to work?

Hey lackyno

You can use the ESR Disc patcher on any ISO file that you have.
The nice thing about the disc patcher is it also has an unpatcher if you need it.

So say my backups that I had previously burned for use with Swap Magic. I then made a backup ISO of that disc and then patched it.

It sure does. Use Verbatim DL DVD+R 8x and burn at 2.4x speed.

You need to first patch with toxic dual layer patch and then ESR patcher.

Here is a list we made so far with compatibility for ESR.

Here is another just simple list

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=puDp5vYkqs6zhbyjCNRfrcA

I just have Jak X backed up, and I have all the Jak originals but haven't tested them all myself.

As where to find Jak X, I do know that Blackcat-games.net has it. You need a referral to sign up there.

You will have to do a google search for torrents or a rapidshare search perhaps, maybe the usenet.

When you get to the part where you are going to burn the compilation, you select "image Burner" instead of your drive, and when it asks to save image, just use the drop down arrow to save as .ISO instead of .nrg

Then just patch the ISO with the disc patcher and then burn it.
