Hi,
I just buy a slim white ps2 (SCPH-79001)
I want to buy a flip top and a swap magic 3.6 or 3.8 but I want to know
if I can play ps2 import backup (Ntsc-j or pal) with a usa swap magic.
I also want to know where I should buy my flip top and swap magic.
Does the flip top work with white ps2
thank

Hello
There is something better than Swap Magic now, its called fmcb 1.7 and by using an ELF file called ESR by ffgriever you can play all backups, even imports.
Check out this faq first
http://psx-scene.com/forums/freevast/announcements.html
Then check with dangwoot in this thread if you want him to install for you, all for the price of just your mc and postage to him and back to you.
You can read up more on fmcb here:
http://psx-scene.com/forums/freevast/
Or you can buy Swap Magic and fliptop from modchip.ca and then install this yourself if you want.
Its up too you.
Swap magic will play import backups, but ESR is better and no swapping of discs.

No it is very simple, as long as one reads the whole fmcb 1.7 tutorial from start to finish, look at the pics also for help.
But there are lots who don't read it all, then install and have problems.
You must make sure to download the ELF files needed, rename them according to the tutorial and place them properly.
Then the extra apps you add can be named as you want, but you would have to configure them to show using the fmcb configurator.

I can't tell you for sure, sorry as I have never used one.
I guess if you have a reader that will fit in the usb slot, it may work.

With the Slim PS2, the only way is with Swap Magic or Armax that has media player(they are hard to find)
The tutorial to use Swap Magic is here:
http://bootleg.sksapps.com/tutorials/fmcb/
It shows the guide on fmcb 1.7 and also the guide below to install using
Swap Magic.
Or the other alternative is to have some install it for you.

I have memor32 also, actually 2 of them, but now with fmcb 1.7 and ESR, who needs it.
Way better compatibiility for PS2 and backups.
Much cheaper for him to install fmcb using Swap Magic or have someone install it for just postage.

I have bought from both and they are good. So I would go with whoever is cheaper.
Yes you should put the DVDELF.bin in the INJECT folder when you install.

It just means your order has not been completed as yet.
You will get another email when its complete, or you can just keep checking your order history.
Shouldn't take long
How did you pay.

Yes you can play PAL games with ESR using fmcb 1.7
Just remember for those PAL games that don't have a 50/60 selector or screen size selector in OPTION may not fit your screen properly
I have an HDTV and use a PS2 component cable on my PS2 so it plays NTSC or PAL games just fine.
