Okay. I'm having a similar problem. I have an NTSC v5 or v6 ps2 (I'm not sure, the serial is SCPH 30001R) with a slide card and Swap Magic DVD v2 and Swap Magic 3 CD v3.2 (US build). I burnt several CD loaders from Swapmagicfix.com on TDK media at 48x. I put in the Swap Magic CD, waited for it to load, then swapped it with the CD loader. I press X to do normal boot, and the screen goes red, with purple lines in the corner like some other people, except my ps2 is v5 or 6. I also have Memorex cd media, and I use Memorex DVD-R media, burning at 4x. I haven't been having problems with most DVDs and games, but Ratchet and Clank 2 won't even boot, and James Bond: EON boots, but freezes on some missions. What should I do?

Thanks a lot. Burning the CD loader with DVD Decrypter at 1x worked. I ended up with 3 coaster CDs and 1 coaster DVD.

you dont really need a cdloader or dvdloader for games that need it...just use this method

1.enter SM CD
2.Eject enter a real big ps2 disc refresh toc
3.switch game with backup (fliptop or slide card) press square

works everytime for me

What do you mean by refresh toc? Do I just eject SM CD, put in a big game, and then swap it with the real game?

Never mind, I just tried it, and it worked. Thanks a lot, this is so much easier than using CD loader.

I don't know what TOC means, but it works for me. You don't need to know what it means.

You are basically just inserting an original dvd game, such as the swap magic dvd disc, that is greater than or equal to your backup in toc(Table of Contents). The reason this works is because it "tricks" the ps2 into think that the backup you will eventually play is the same disc the original toc disc. The reason the toc original has to be equal to or larger than your backup is because if it were smaller then the contents of your backup would not be able to be loaded. That's why the say you must insert a game with a large table of content.

At what point do you insert the big game? At the insert disk prompt? If that is the case, then when do you insert the backup?

Also, why can't you guys name some big games? I would assume FFX and GTA are both pretty big in size, but I don't rip my own games so I don't know.

I think there is only a version 7+ dvdloader. The only reason the dvdloader was created is because the swap magic 2 cd won't boot on v9/10 consoles and therefore could not boot the cdloader. If you have a version 5 ps2 just use the v1-6 cdloader which you can get from http://www.swapmagicfix.com

For some reason the DVD loader doesnt seem to work for me either. I have no trouble with DVD backups in general, but this one has got me stymied. When I put it in, SwapMagic ALWAYS goes to red.

And I cant get the CDLoader to work in my V10 PS2 eitehr. its like the loaders dont want to work in my PS2 :-/

I am trying to backup Harry Potter. I am really having problems with dvd loader. I have a PS2 v10. I downloaded dvd loader, copied it, using DVD Decrypter at x1 speed on a ridata disk. I put in sm dvd 2.0, ejected, inserted DVD loader, hit the X, got a pink screen in the background and nothing happens. I even tried:
1.enter SM CD
2.Eject... enter SM DVd...did not load.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong. Thanks
